Let's Talk About Sex 2: Sexual Power!

Erinn and Vanessa are exploring sexual empowerment - what it means and how it changes as we age and evolve.

Do the words sex and power, especially when it comes to women, get a bad rap?  Is sexual power tied to our self esteem?  How do we figure out what we want and then have the courage to ask for it?  Is aging and sexuality win-win or a catch 22?

We're Tired of Sucking Our Stomachs In!

We're Tired of Sucking Our Stomachs In!

How often do you suck your stomach in? Do you even realize you're doing it?

Who knew that women sucking their stomachs in is, apparently "a thing!"

Think about this, the  woman standing next to you in line at the grocery store or staring at you through your Zoom meeting this morning,  probably has her stomach sucked in.

Is she ashamed or embarrassed at her partners touch?  Does she feels bad in when she looks in the mirror?  Did her mom tell her to suck it in? Does she aspire to a standard of beauty she'll spend years trying to achieve only to feel shitty when she can't?

Why do we women do it?  Especially when most women have a pot belly of some kind that feels so good to touch, hug  and squeeze!?!

Let's talk about it  - WITH our bellies pleasantly out if you please.

Male Gaze - Um...My Eyes Are Up Here!

Male Gaze - Um...My Eyes Are Up Here!

The term "Male Gaze" was coined back in the 70's by film critic Laura Mulvey, but the sexual objectification of women in television, movies, advertising, comics and more is just as important a topic to talk about today -  in good ol' 2021.

Vanessa and Erinn unravel their views on sexual imagery, how the male dominated view of women in media has affected them, and where the line gets crossed between sexual appreciation and sexual objectification.

It's a big topic with lots of layers, but they're brining their own brand of humor and questioning to try and figure it all out right along with you!

Diet Culture - It's Time to DITCH it.

Diet Culture - It's Time to DITCH it.

Does your sense of self worth and a certain number on the scale go hand in hand?
Do you "have" to fit into a certain size to feel good in life?

If this sounds familiar, you, like many people, are caught up in the "Diet Culture" mindset.

Diet culture is a belief system that values weight, shape, and size over physical, emotional and spiritual  well-being.

Erinn and Vanessa have both experienced this kind of thinking throughout their lives and on this episode they are taking a deep dive on their journeys towards self love, body acceptance and ditching the diet culture outlook on life.

Toot Your Horn - Why Women Don't Brag

Toot Your Horn - Why Women Don't Brag

It's good to be proud of ourselves - but when does pride cross the line into bragging, and is that line different for men and women?

Erinn and Vanessa are questioning why so many women accept self promotion in men as "confidence" but often see it in themselves  as "vanity."

Science backs this up - but maybe it's time to question that and flip the script!  Maybe it's time to Toot Your Horn (beep! beep!) and not feel weird about it.
