    About this Episode

Dr. Gary Powell has been practicing dentistry for 22 years. Gary opened Carrington Dental Centre in West Kelowna along with his wife, Sharmaine Powell, a dental hygienist in 1998. They graduated from the University of Manitoba and soon after, chose West Kelowna to start a business and raise a family.

They have loved being part of this growing community and are thankful to call this beautiful place home. It is fulfilling to have relationships with patients and their families over many years. Dentistry is a combination of health care and artistic talent. I enjoy both. There is absolutely nothing better than helping someone smile.

Working in a growing community has allowed us to keep growing. We have added more dentists, support staff and most recently, an oral surgeon from Vancouver. We love working with an amazing dental team while keeping up with advancements in dental technology and continuing education. Things have changed a lot over the last 20 years which keeps being a dentist exciting.  We have added state of the art equipment such as digital x-rays, digital treatment planning and laser dentistry to name a few.

It feels good to be able to fulfill the needs of our patients and make going to the dentist enjoyable. We see patients of all ages, from the first tooth to the last tooth.

If you enjoyed this episode, an iTunes review would be SO appreciated! It's super easy to do right within the Podcast app.

Keeping the Real in Real Estate with Stephanie Heiser

Keeping the Real in Real Estate with Stephanie Heiser

In Stephanie's own words: Selling and investing in real estate was never in my life plan. I was a teacher and then a Vice Principal. And then I got a taste of my first flip and realized there was a strong need for agents that would educate and advocate for their clients. I had 8 open escrows within 2 months of getting my license because I listened to the advice of an agent I met at an open house. My online lead conversion rate was over 10% because I know the local market, utilize helpful apps, and can anticipate the needs of others well. The Joshua Tree market is really hot and I have the pleasure of helping first time investors and savvy seasoned investors as well as first time home buyers. I moved to a new market and started a team to help manage the volume of two really hot markets. I'd love to help everyone see that you don't have to be born into real estate or be rich to succeed in this business. You just have to know your shit, hustle, provide value, and be genuine.

I'd love to inspire listeners to pursue their passion, especially if it's real estate. I am smart and strategic, and I wasn't born into wealth or born into the real estate business. I took a huge leap of faith with my first investment and made $60k profit on a 400 square foot cabin. I took a risk when I quit my six figure admin job and got a real estate license. After closing 54 deals my first year, I took another huge risk and moved 5 hours away and started a team earlier than I anticipated. I just launched Visalia Love, kinda like those rock painting community initiatives but instead I make clay heart ornaments and hang them around town for people to find and keep. Each month I buy a gift certificate from a local business and the person that finds the designated heart wins that gift. I am doing a buy out of the local minor league MLB stadium so that everyone in town can attend the game free courtesy of Heiser Home Team because I love Visalia (and baseball) so much. It's all about an abundance mindset, knowing your market thoroughly. and anticipating the needs of others.

Drop Kick the Drama! with Madonna Hannah

Drop Kick the Drama! with Madonna Hannah

In Madonna Hanna's own words: "I truly believe that when people drop kick the drama in their lives...Anything is POSSIBLE! I am a living example of that statement.

I should be booked as guest because, I am a charismatic, energetic and dynamic  survivor! Thank goodness I was bullied as a child. Being bullied prepared me to grow a thick skin and helped me to stand my ground as a retail executive in a conservative white city like Boston.

I later became a high school Fashion Marketing educator in Washington State. Absolutely, no bullying allowed in my classroom! I look forward to sharing my anti-bullying classroom strategies and the anti-bullying campaigns I created and shared with schools in Washington State.

Also, as a retired person, on a whim at the age of 57, (10 years ago) I became a competitive amateur sprinter. Mind you I had no prior experience at all in track and field. I have competed in numerous Washington State Senior Game events and am preparing for my 3rd. National Senior Game event, May 2022. My coach is a 2021 Olympic hopeful.

I am also a widow, going on three years. I believe widows and widowers can inspire others by reaching out/volunteering and being rainbows that brighten the lives of others. I definitely love to using my experiences, talents and skills to encourage people of all age to achieve their dreams and goals!"
