Frontiers #43 - October 2023

 

We've finally made it to the end of 2023. This year has been a wild ride for me just as I'm sure it has been for many of you, so I thought it would be nice to finish it out with a massive episode of Frontiers. This one goes a little harder than usual and taps into my trance roots toward the end.

July 2023's episode of Frontiers is here, and it's a very melodic one...and I dare I see even a bit heavy on the trance side. My music studio situation at home has been turned upside-down the last four weeks due to some construction, so I grabbed my travel DJ controller and sat down in a hot room that has terrible acoustics to crank this one out. And honestly, I think it came out excellent.

I'm still alive! I may have skipped a month of Frontiers without warning, but it was sorely needed. Burnout is very real, and I was very burnt out. I'm back now, though, and I'm feeling MUCH better. Not only do I have an excellent episode of Frontiers for you, but I've also been working on some original tunes, which you'll hopefully hear at...some point. 2023 continues being chaotic for me into April...which is why I'm once again a week late on this Frontiers episode. That said, the extra time gave me a chance to try out some new techniques in the mix, so there are more cuts, more effects, and an even smoother intro and outro than normal. As icing on the cake, I managed to squeeze in my brand new remix coming out on Landscapes Music in May, so stay tuned for that as well.

Happy new year! Ok, we might be a couple weeks late on this one, but the first Frontiers of 2023 has arrived. This month's mix is rather more melodic than the last few have been, though that's not to say it doesn't pick up some good energy and dancing grooves along the way too. We're ending 2022 on a bang. This final mix of the year features every facet of progressive music that I've been known to play, including progressive breaks, melodic techno, several forms of progressive house, and even a little bit of trance.
