Gil is a US Army Vietnam Combat Veteran and a retired Lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, where he primarily worked in the capacity as a Homicide Detective during his 38 years of service. 

Gil walked us thru his Law Enforcement career, with an emphasis on the Night Stalker case.  In addition, we were joined by special guests @Airman_Vic and @Detective_Stacey

The Lads from the Arm Bar Podcast get a House Call from Doctor Donnelly Wilkes; a Navy Lieutenant Commander who supported the Marines in combat during two tours in Iraq. Following the warrior lineage in his family, Dr. Wilkes led a life of service by way of the Armed Forces where he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for Valor and continues his service to his fellow Man today by practicing family medicine in the great state of California. Miguel and Knocko of the Arm Bar Podcast talk with Richard Bresler, author of the critically acclaimed new book, “Worth Defending: How Gracie Jiu Jitsu Saved My Life”. 

Bresler is famously known as the first American Gracie Jiu Jitsu student in the United States, dating back to the 1970’s under Rorian Gracie. Bresler was an integral part of the growth of Gracie Jiu Jitsu by way of his financial investment in the very first Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy in Hermosa Beach, as well as the formation of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). 

Bresler, now a Black Belt Professor himself, shared his struggles and achievements as well as life lessons on how he overcame resistance and continues to persevere thru various challenges.
