    About this Episode

I’m gonna go ahead and say it. Gentle parenting f*cks me up. In more ways than one. I have a love hate relationship with this style of parenting because it gets into your psyche and forces you to do some deep, internal soul searching. It also forces you to re-parent yourself which is hard enough in itself and I’ll get into that. However, as challenging as this style of parenting has been for us, I do believe it’s the only way to go – at least for me and my kids. Over the past two years, we have researched and practiced gentle parenting with our son and man is it HARD. Gone are the days of time outs and punishments as we learn more about mindful parenting and child development. In this episode, I review what gentle parenting is, briefly touch on the science behind it, share some of our gentle parenting scenarios and techniques and I get into why this is so hard when it comes to re-parenting yourself.

If you are interested in gentle parenting, follow @biglittlefeelings on IG and purchase their gentle parenting course ASAP. I don't know where I would be right now on my parenting journey without them. It was a complete game changer.

Removing Your Children From the Rat Race

Removing Your Children From the Rat Race

In this episode, Brianna talks about the negative impact the rat race is having on the family unit and especially on our children. From competitive sports to extra curricular activities to hours of public school, homework and projects, the family unit is being attacked at all angles. The only way to save your children from living this rat race and succumbing to a constant fight or flight response is to have the confidence and the backbone to go against what everyone else in society seems to be doing. As parents, it is our duty to protect our children and make the decisions that are in their best interest. By slowing down the rat race and replacing some of the activities that come with it with quality family time, you will be giving your children one of the greatest gifts they will ever receive. If you and your children aren't happy with the race you have been sucked into, do them and yourself an enormous favor and dare to be different. I promise you there is great harmony on the other side of chaos.

Finding Strength Through Struggle & Trauma with Cassandra Blake

Finding Strength Through Struggle & Trauma with Cassandra Blake

Cassandra Blake is a tough, strong, badass, mother, wife, FT employee, and entrepreneur. She is someone who openly embraces and exudes vulnerability and realness on the daily. I needed to know where she got the strength to be so vulnerable and to fearlessly show the world who she is. I did not expect the answers she gave me. You will be amazed as you listen to Cassandra explain how she became the woman she is today. From having high functioning anxiety, to experiencing debilitating health issues and being told she’d never be able to have children, to a traumatic pregnancy and delivery, to being sectioned and put into a psych ward against her will, Cassandra has been through a lot. Her story will have you laughing, crying, and clenching your fists in a fit of rage. But most of all, her story will leave you in awe at who she has chosen to become despite everything she has gone through. Every day, Cassandra makes the conscious decision to be the best mother, the best wife, and the best version of herself while being mindful and conscious of not repeating old habits and patterns that were ingrained into her as a small child. She frequently makes a serious effort to do things that scare her because she has been shown over and over again that personal growth comes from conquering your greatest fears. Cassandra is a true example of how we can all find strength through the struggle. I hope you enjoy listening to Cassandra as much as I did. Don’t forget to share this episode with family and friends.

Then one day, Daniella receives a phone call she never thought she’d get. “Infertile, stage 4, endometriosis” was all she heard. Living Your Most Authentic Life and Following Your Heart with Meaghan Mullis

Living Your Most Authentic Life and Following Your Heart with Meaghan Mullis

Coming out in a small town in Massachusetts back in 2006 wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do. At a young age, Meaghan knew who she was and what she wanted in life but being raised Irish Catholic put her at a crossroads when it came to being her most authentic self. When she couldn't bear it any longer, Meaghan decided to turn to God. The words of a priest that day in that church changed the trajectory of her life forever. Fast forward to the day Meaghan meets Jayme. The story of how the universe brought them together is amazing.  Meaghan has recently moved across the country to live in a completely unfamiliar state with Jayme and her description of the culture shock is hilarious. But her love and appreciation for Kansas and the people who live there makes you want to pack your bags and drive out for a visit. Meaghan is a true example of how living your most authentic life and following your heart can accelerate everything and bring you more happiness and fulfillment than you ever could have imagined. A true, in a rush, Bostonian is now learning the value of going with the flow and letting the universe take you where you're meant to go. Meaghan's positivity and outlook on life is an inspiration. Have a listen and share with your family and friends.

I Had A Baby In My Bedroom - My Home Birth Story

I Had A Baby In My Bedroom - My Home Birth Story

I had a baby in my bedroom and this is my home birth story.  This was the most amazing and transformational experience I will ever have. I gave birth to a baby boy in the hospital back in 2017. I just gave birth to a baby girl at home back in June. I had a midwife and a team of widwives come to my house as I was in labor, supporting me while I was giving birth. It was a water birth that occurred in a birthing tub in my bedroom. Child birth shouldn't be something women are afraid of. Having an empowered birth and giving birth without fear is one of the best things we can ever do. Let's normalize natural birth and home birth.  I hope you enjoy this episode.
