Brother Da’ee was formerly incarcerated and is now a Criminal Justice Advocate helping to prevent young men from going to prison and from reentering prison after they have been already. He is particularly focused on Fathers and families. Akiya McKnight is an award-winning producer and writer, changing the landscape in Hollywood.

Both were driven to help others overcome their challenges to fulfill their largest dreams and give back to where they came from.

Too many names of Black men and women to count have been murdered at the hands of police at disproportionate rates. These facts have an adverse effect on the minds of Black people when they interact with any type of law enforcement. 

In this episode, Gordy and Mia both speak about their encounters with police, the state of the country, and more. 

The month is May and the year is 2020. In the midst of a pandemic, another pandemic is being exposed - one that has plagued Black people in America for over 400 years. Mia and Gordy talk about George Floyd and the protests.
