UK Rights in France '21 WARP | Driving Licences| Travel Issues with Ambassador Llewellyn from the British Embassy in Paris. Brexit and the Pandemic having been part of the political agenda in 2020 and 2021 for the British Embassy in Paris.

The British Ambassador to France Ed Llewellyn joins me on the Riviera Firefly podcast today to discuss the key issues facing Brits here in France in Spring Summer 2021.
On my agenda today are the WARP (Withdrawal Agreement Residency Permit) that British nationals are strongly advised to apply for before the 30th June 2021 so as not to lose their rights here in France . Issues around driving licence exchanges and travel issues between the UK and France during the pandemic.

It is also the Queen's 95th birthday this year and we talk about how UK Nationals can get involved virtually.

Nick Boot Wild Fire DJs

I moved to the South of France with my wife and then baby boy 6 years ago as we wanted a new adventure as well as a lot more sunshine than we were getting in London! I set up Wildfire DJs (or UK DJs Abroad as it was then) at the same time. The aim was to provide a premium DJ, sound and lighting service to couples coming from abroad, predominantly the UK, to marry here in France. People pay an awful lot for their wedding, especially in this region, and I think it's a crime for the day to end with a party that doesn't absolutely blow the roof off. I like to ask my guests about their purpose, here’s what our next guest said:

Do you know how sometimes people read books to make a change or become better at something, like leadership, or meditation, or productivity? But then when you ask them 6 months later how things are going, and nothing has changed?

Now if that resonates with you listen in. Theresa Destrebecq is a Coach, Educator, an advocator of self acceptance and more recently the founder of Emerge Book Circles.

Now if you are into books be them real or audio, maybe you have, like me, many on the go, a pile of books but then can’t remember once you’ve moved on ?
Well I definitely can tick that box .. I used to be in a fun fiction in person group .. after many years I left and did actually try and start my own business book group but I don’t think we got past 2, I was stretching myself too thin to set it up, so my interest was piques when I saw Theresa’s post proposing an alternative way of doing it.

I was craving a bit of deep dive and direction and connection and much as I love my own Business Coach, because they are based in the US time zones I am never at my best as its late at night .. so this group was ticking the boxes.

Theresa and I had already met a couple of times in KidooLand , at a PWN conference where she was a speaker and so I decided to give the book circle a go.

For a while now I’ve been joining her group for  great thought provoking conversation and activities .. which have also as a by product given me a  constant both personally and professionally through this pandemic. Kind of linked to self growth and personal improvement but also practical things that I can actually do with my own family.

We chat about the need to create more permission for imperfection, limiting beliefs and mindset and of course around how her book circles work and why they are so powerful both professionally but also personally.

Back in April our chat with friend Lucy Kelly one of our local nutritionists popped up on the podcast socials and Mel spotted it and having had a listen messaged 

I am currently training to be a health coach so will be looking for nutrition therapists such as you to team up with when I get qualified (at the end of the year hopefully)!

It’s early April here in the South of France and the sun is shining although rather remarkably it actually snowed here yesterday and lots of us potager vegetable patch gardeners were then all worried about our fledgling plants.

We are back in a lockdown her in France and so we are bringing forward some of our later planned pods to chat nutrition and boost immunity as the timing seems right for us to be looking at the little wins we can all be putting into place right now.
So in a previous episode we had Susie and she actually put me in touch with Lucy Kelly .

Today we are going to chat about how studies in BioChemistry led to the markets in the Fontville in Cannes and helping us locally but also now globally with nutrition.

My big takeway from this was to break things down into manageable smaller atomic habits. So for me a breakfast plan will be on the menu as I think that is something that we can organise easily and get the whole family involved in.

I’ve been wanting for ages to get to know better the man behind Accendo Group as I know from little snippets what a fascination global and incredibly varied back story he has.
I love the fact that Tim was a participant in my Vision Board workshop back in Jan 2020 and what a great soul he seems to have in so many of the social media interactions I see .. his heart is in the right place and as an Ambassador for the mark Cote d’Azur France he is truly a Francophile.

For many 2020 was a hard year health and diet wise as gyms shut, restaurants closed and socialising was seriously curbed. That's why we decided to bump forward this episode and run it as a nutrition and health mini series to inspire, motivate and share as much as possible and get ourselves moving and grooving again!

It’s all very well to say Feel the fear and do it anyway, but what do you do if your head is in a dark space , you’ve given up, confidence has deserted you or that inner voice is giving you lots of negative talk...

We have all been there and never more than in the last 12 months, where the Stress of news, inactivity, total lack of movement and the infringement on our liberty and the kgs creeping on as we binge on Netflix.

Heidi Fossali is on the pod to chat about what positive steps we can be taking right now to get things back on track because suffering in silence is just not the right approach.

On a side note I have seen that lots of therapy and psychological consultations are being “prise en charge” so paid for by the French national health service right now due to the huge impact that the pandemic is having, so if you need support, reach out the help is there.

Now Heidi is going to be that audio injection of vitamins that we can all do with right now.
