Research, like the studies conducted by psychologist Ali Crum at Stanford, shows how our beliefs can impact our physiological responses. By learning how to use our minds effectively, we can heal ourselves and shape our lives.

Similarly, in the sham surgery trials, patients who believed they had undergone surgery experienced real improvements in pain and functionality, even though no actual surgical procedure had been performed. These studies demonstrate the power of the mind-body connection and the importance of positive beliefs and expectations in promoting good health.

Similarly, decaffeinated coffee drinkers who were falsely told they were drinking regular coffee experienced withdrawal symptoms. These studies demonstrate the profound impact of beliefs and expectations on physical health.

When I felt blah recently, HALT helped me realize I was hungry and tired, making me feel better instantly.

    There’s a really good Alan Watts quote that comes to mind: 

    “If you’re on a boat, and you look behind you, what do you see? You’ll see the wake behind you. The wake is just what shows you where you’ve been… BUT the wake of the boat does not steer the boat at all. It simply shows you where you’ve been.” 

    A lot of people live in the past, and they do it so that they can try and make a prediction of what the future will look like. If this sounds interesting to you, then I’m going to assume that you are probably one of the people who have found themselves doing exactly this. Why are you thinking that way? Here’s what I believe… 

    If you’re living in your past, so that you can predict your future… then you’re probably somebody who simply doesn’t want their future to end up looking like their past. 

    But if you don’t make a change, and make one immediately… then your tomorrows are going to surely look like your yesterdays and even your todays. It’s time to break the cycle!
