Helping Ukrainian Refugees and Orphans with Olah Dinh

    en-usMarch 12, 2022

    About this Episode

On February 24th,  Russia began invading Ukraine,  forcing millions of Ukrainian citizens to evacuate for their safety from the chaotic bombings and killings.

Poland, a country next to Ukraine, is no stranger to the bitterness of history, having been in the crosshairs of the Second World War. Because of this, they widely opened their doors to the Ukrainian refugees. Millions of refugees turned to  Poland and other nearby countries to find temporary homes, causing the governments to seek more financial assistance and support.

This week’s episode is an eye-opener for everyone. We are joined by Ola Dinh, a Communication Director at Bully! Entertainment, to share news and stories on the ground as they work to help Ukrainian refugees, how they are now living their lives, and how we can help them. She believes that we shouldn’t stay quiet in situations like this. Instead, make as much noise as you can to call for peace and justice.

    Do not miss this episode!

    Memorable Quotes:

    • Ukrainians are so outmatched, outgunned, and outnumbered that despite whatever heroism they throw up, despite whatever arms we suddenly rush into their arms, they just can't last. — Paul Roberts
    • I don't think anything in life ever prepares you for the shock that the Ukrainians have just gone through. —Ola Dinh
    • Why do I need new sneakers when I can help somebody who's in this. — Olah Dinh
    • Counter the misinformation that Russia is spreading right now. — Ola Dinh
    • Have the people tell the real stories. — Paul Roberts
    • Don't stay quiet, make as much noise as you can about this because this needs unity from every size. — Ola Dinh

    Important Points:

    • Every three seconds, two Ukrainians arrive in Poland.
    • More than two million refugees are heading across to Poland.
    • There's been this fear that Ukraine would be the role model that would spark similar revolts and all these other little breakaway republics such as Poland, Hungary, and Romania will join NATO.
