There is a lot of confusion around the word patriarchy. It's often misued and misunderstood. It's not a bad word, it's a system in place that benefits men at the expense of women and it's been happening for centuries. This is a look at that.

Women are told they shouldn't put yourself in precarious situations for their own safety. But that means we really don't have freedom if we can't walk at night, wear what we want and have to monitor our behavior at all times.

There is no balance. That line that we are encouraged to walk between sexy and slutty, high maintanced and low maintanced, be a good mother or selfish doesn't exist. There is no line!

Women are constantly coerced into having intimate relations and it's just okay.
