In this episode, Carla Wright, Giana Petrichella, and Glenn Wright introduce themselves and why they are embarking on this educational podcast, delving into history and politics & their intricate connections to present-day issues in an unbiased, approachable way.
Carla Wright's Introduction
In today's episode, Carla explains her educational background in History, Public Communication, and English and how they all contributed to a bigger picture of understanding propaganda and rhetoric. All three have been utilized in her professional life not only as a marketer but as a political campaign manager as well.
Giana Petrichella's Introduction
Giana goes into her background as a pre-law student and how her studies have contributed to a deeper desire to understand the politics of the United States and how any person can affect politics, especially at the local level. She is excited to learn more about everything history and politics and brings a younger and unique perspective to topics older generations may be aware of.
Glenn Wright's Introduction
Glenn, aka Dad, has the most extensive background in politics of the three. He is a Vietnam War vet (over 250+ active missions) as a Forward Air Controller (FAC) and spent his professional career in the Insurance industry as a safety engineer. He started involving himself in local politics back in the 90s and has continuously supported and been elected to positions of power in the community that affect affordable housing and renewable energy, to name a couple. He recently retired (sure, dad) from Summit County Council in Summit County, Utah, as he served his terms. He recently ran for Congress in 2022 in District 3 and managed to gain 3% popularity (the highest support an opponent has reached against any incumbent in the District) though was not elected.
Since all three of us are inherently educators and learners, we are seeking out thought-leaders in all political and social areas to gain a better understanding of the issues up for vote.
