Wim Hof Method: Laura & Isabelle Hof - Daughter's Of The 'Iceman' - Tell All On Changing The Paradigm Of Modern Science

Isabelle Hof & Laura Hof — daughters of the world-renowned Wim Hof, creator of The Wim Hof Method  — join me in this educational, heart-to-heart converstation on the Hooked on Habits Podcast. What is the Wim Hof Method? If you’ve seen people sitting in baths full of ice, or walking into the ocean for ‘cold plunges’, or maybe even talking about the benefits of turning their hot showers into cold ones now - there’s a reason. The scientific benefits are growing  behind this method, and in this episode Laura and Isabelle begin with the foundation of what it was like to grow up with their dad, Wim Hof, who was the glue that held the family together in the hardest of times.

Laura & Isabelle share the specific pillars behind the Wim Hof method, and its life changing benefits. We also talk about ego, de-conditioning, tools for you to start using TODAY to find more calmness in life (hint: it only takes one minute), projects on the horizon you’ll want to know about, and much more.

400lbs Lost & Full Quality of Life Gained. Amanda, Darren, & Meghan Share Their Transformations as Hooked on Healthy Habits App Clients

400lbs Lost & Full Quality of Life Gained. Amanda, Darren, & Meghan Share Their Transformations as Hooked on Healthy Habits App Clients

Welcome to the most personal, unguarded, and raw Hooked on Habits podcast to date.

Today, I welcome three incredible individuals, who have grown with me for nearly the past decade. Each of them shares what was the key factor for them to create change, stay the course, and strive for even greater than they originally set out for. Collectively these three individuals have lost nearly 400lbs, improved their overall longevity and their relationships with themselves and others. I couldn’t be more excited to welcome you to such a personal episode.

Amanda - she says she’s in the BEST mental and physical shape of her life. She’s not dieting, she’s LIVING! Without spoiling too much, I’ll let Amanda explain why gastric bypass was the best thing that DIDN’T happen to her.

Darren - he started at 380lbs and is now under 200lbs, running ultra marathons and always looking for new mountains to climb. Despite injuries along the way, Darren says he’s now stronger and healthier than ever before.

Meghan - I have always highly respected her for her grit and ability to show up. Despite her transformation not being one largely focused on weight, Meghan simply didn’t feel strong, nor like she had the tools to develop healthier habits.

Rosa Livingstone: How To Stop Self-Sabotaging (For Good!), And Rise Above Your Limiting Beliefs

Welcome to the kick off of Season Two of the Hooked On Habits Podcast!

Are you a self-sabotager? Do you have self limiting beliefs that hold you back?

Do you get in your own way without even knowing you’re doing it? Or even worse, do so while knowing you're doing it?

And most importantly, if our external world is a reflection of our inner world, then how do we compound the good and deconstruct the negative, while reprogramming our conscious and subconscious mind?

Author of “Self-Sabotage: The Art of Screwing Up,” Rosa Livingstone is a Clinical Hypnotherapist and speaker who specializes in self-sabotage. With over 15 years of experience guiding clients to overcome self-sabotaging issues in order to become the best they can be and then some, Rosa’s passion and dedication is to help others re-discover their authentic selves and rise above limiting beliefs.

Rosa and I met 11 years ago when I brought her on as a guest to interview while working in Top 40 Morning Radio. Instantly she awed me with her ability to break down self-sabotaging ways in others, and I've been a client of hers ever since. In today’s episode of the Hooked on Habits Podcast, we explore Rosa’s insight and expertise to guide people to live fulfilling lives.

You can listen to the Hooked On Habits episode featuring Rosa Livingstone on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Amazon Music, Podcast Addict, and Stitcher.

Riaz Meghji: Every Conversation Counts - The 5 Habits of Human Connection That Build Extraordinary Relationships

Riaz Meghji: Every Conversation Counts - The 5 Habits of Human Connection That Build Extraordinary Relationships

What if you could ask powerful questions that create breakthrough moments? Lead by listening, and remove your distractions? Put aside your perfect persona and engage others on a deeper level?

If all these possibilities sound inviting, why are we so connected, and yet so alone—and how can we reconnect?

My guest Riaz Meghji digs deep into the reality that we all crave connection. We were never meant to live alone, or communicate only in “likes” and retweets. Riaz shares personal insights from powerful interviews in his 17+ years of on-air experience hosting Citytv’s Breakfast Television, MTV Canada, TEDxVancouver, CTV News, and more.

In his book ‘Every Conversation Counts - The 5 Habits of Human Connection That Build Extraordinary Relationships’, Riaz points to a new way forward for a better future—one in which we express genuine curiosity about others, listen with our whole hearts, show up as our authentic selves, and make every conversation count.

Takeaways from this episode with Riaz include:

    • Why we must go into every conversation with a ‘beginners mindset’, especially with those who we are closest to in life.
    • Ways to become better at listening without distraction.
    • People don’t lack disciple, they lack necessity.
    • Why 'discover don't dismiss' will be your new mantra.
    • Why asking the right questions can be much more effective than diagnosing or fixing someones problem.
    • How excuses show up in our lives, and how to recognize them in the moment.

Thomas Haas: Why Never Getting Too Good For Anything Leads To A Personal And Professional Life Full Of Purpose

Thomas Haas: Why Never Getting Too Good For Anything Leads To A Personal And Professional Life Full Of Purpose

“Never get too good for anything” - Thomas Haas.

World renowned chocolatier and pastry chef, Thomas Haas, was born in the Black Forest of Germany. Working his way to Michelin-starred restaurants didn’t come easy. As an apprentice at the young age of 16 Thomas didn’t think anything of the fact that he was left handed, that was until the owner noticed he couldn’t use an apple peeler - apparently they were made for right handed people. That apple peeler is now displaced in the Restaurant Hall of Fame, and I’ll let Thomas tell you the rest!

From being told “you're never going to make it”, responding with “well, I’ve got to try at least”, and then having 800 customers a day lined up outside of Thomas Haas’ Cafe locations, there’s no doubt this episode is filled with loads of valuable take-aways:

    • Stay humble. From cleaning, organizing, washing dishes, and following orders even while in charge at Michelin-starred restaurants at the age of 25, Thomas did it all.
    • With a suitcase full of motivation, recipes, and ingredients Thomas ventured off to New York City to work to see if he was the right ‘fit’ for a famed restaurant.
    • The importance of honouring yourself the freedom of decision making.
    • How Thomas went about supporting his employees during the pandemic - which included food vouchers until government support came into play. Fast forward nine months and the company had its busiest Christmas in history.
    • Why safety and fun must be the dominate motivation behind your goals.
    • …and much more!

Jonny Staub: From Fear, To Forgiveness, To Freedom. What You Haven't Heard On Airwaves While Hosting Virgin Radio's Morning Show

Virgin Radio’s Vancouver Morning Show Host, Jonny Staub, holds nothing back in this interview. Revealing that his grandparents having been in concentration camps in Germany for over two years is what motivates him to persevere today. What it was like to walk into a radio studio for six months, turn on the microphone to entertain hundreds of thousands of people, and not talk about the hardest thing he was experiencing in his life - all while eventually being called out by his team members. Jonny opens up about his continued work towards feelings of worth and abandonment he's experienced since he was a child, and letting go of the need for approval from others as an adult.

    More highlights include:

    • How 2020 taught Jonny Staub the power of forgiveness, and how you can work towards it too.
    • Why being inauthentic means missing out on life.
    • The power of trusting your gut.
    • "Bet on yourself and you'll never loose".
    • Preparing yourself with the tools to stick to your boundaries.
    • Letting go of the disease to please.
