    About this Episode

Today I would like to discuss with you the world of the early stage venture capital fund and how it makes its all-important investment decisions. For many years I have sat the other side of the table from the fund with my clients trying to understand what their drivers are and how we can improve our presentations. As you would appreciate it is not about good presentations but how to convince the fund that the investment is one that they should make.
As you have known for several years the work we do at projects RH is to prepare a client company and its management for the time when they seek early funds. Most of our clients are seeking funds between successful rounds with angel investors through to IPO. The clients we tend to come to you with a seeking pre-IPO funding.

Although Urbenex BioEnergy digesters are smaller than those purchased by BP in the United States and Shell in Europe, they still represent a significant investment decision, priced at approximately USD$3 million each. Join us today in "Connect to Grow" with our guest, Steve Carmichael, President and CEO of Urbenex BioEnergy.

Relatively high interest rates and its impacts for investors and business
In Australia and around the world we have seen interest rates rapidly rip move upwards and community sentiment, initially at least, push property prices down.

We live in a world where most people have a finite servicing capacity and therefore as interest rates rise the amount, they can borrow falls.

We are seeing both residential and commercial rental rates increasing at a time when landlords are seeing their profitability eroded not just by interest rates but increased government charges and other costs such as insurance.
