The company then pivoted to becoming a specialised web hosting services provider and renamed itself Vodien Internet Solutions. The company grew rapidly over the next decade and in July 2017, Poh sold the business to Dreamscape Networks. The deal was valued at SGD30 million, with Alvin receiving close to SGD15 million. In 2018, he created the Alvin Poh Endowed Scholarship at Singapore Management University, aimed to provide funding primarily to financially needy undergraduate students who demonstrate a combination of good academic results and student life activities.
