    1941 When Pitfalls Derail Your Success

    When pitfalls derail your success, may the force be with you! It's these pitfalls that have the greatest impact on whether or not you finish on top.

    You gotta have the force to face these pitfalls. Believe or not, a lot of us make it to the mountaintop. We reach the goal and are ready to move forward.

    Yet even when you're on top of the mountain, you can find pitfalls. It's these little pesky potholes that slow you down, throw you off course, and change your enthusiasm.

    Now some might think that if you've reach the top, who needs to concern themselves with these pitfalls. Well, it's these pitfalls that can hold you back repeatedly to get you where you are supposed to be headed.

    Some of these pitfalls as you know them are:

    • Self-doubt - Always questioning your abilities and that you're not good enough! 
    • Fear - It's the unknown. What you don't know you run from.
    • Whispers of Negativity - These are those quiet voices repeated over and over again that continuously slow down your next steps.
    • Perfectionism - This is the endless dissatisfaction of what you have done wishing you could still do better. Never satisfied.
    • Overthinking - Trying to have everything just right before moving forward.
    • Blame game - Overlooking yourself and calling someone else out. Not willing to take responsibility.
    • Comparison - Looking side to side trying to be someone you are not created to be.
    • Self-induced expectations - This is setting parameters as to how something should turn out, what it looks like, and how it should work. 
    • Peek-a-boo of the past - You can't escape the past because you haven't let it go. You need to forgive to move on.

    All of these areas you can control. But when you let these pitfalls sneak in, they can easily derail your success.

    So how can you keep moving forward in the midst of pitfalls?

    The K.I.S.S. ~ May the F.O.R.C.E. be with you!

    In honor of Star Wars, may the force be with you. And you definitely need "force" to eliminate that which impairs your progress in life.

    1. Focus on what's in front of you.
    2. Optimism flood your language.
    3. Respond vs. React
    4. Control what you can control.
    5. Eliminate what doesn't work.

    Pitfalls need not to suppress your greatness.

    However, it all about the next step.
