I want to be your tether- attachment and friendship part 1

    enMarch 05, 2023

    About this Episode

We give two part episodes another try when we cover the two We Can Do Hard Things episodes with Marissa G Franco. In this, part 1, we continue our exploration of attachment styles and dig in to how it affects more than our intimate partner relationships or parenting, but also our friendships and relationship with Self. While we're at it- WTAF even are friendships and do we need them? Spoiler alert- uh yeah, as much as we need air and water.

It was a dark and scary night: inside male emotions

Confronting the patriarchy once again, Annalyse and Emily seek out more information on the terrifying tale as old as time- why TF are men??? For a species with nearly identical genetic material why is it such a brain bending, out of body, twilight zone experience when it comes to emotions, feelings, and understanding each other? On this episode we turn to Mark Groves and Bryan Reeves on the Mark Groves Create The Love Podcast where they discuss what it means to choose your partner every day, the cycles that keep men stuck, and why we should care about male liberation.

Sometimes it's ok to shut your mouth and listen

Sometimes it's ok to shut your mouth and listen

Lets clear the air- we do love Dax Shepard. In fact, we love him even more knowing he so publicly showed his ass to everyone when he interviewed JVN on Armchair Expert and MADE THEM CRY. That's right, Emily and Annalyse can't help but review the episode heard 'round the world where Dax, Monica, and JVN get raw about trans rights, intersectionality, geographical privilege, and how to know when you're getting out of your depth.

To express our gratitude for the emotional labor that JVN does in the episode of Armchair Expert that aired on Monday September 25th 2023, which was so inspirational, we will donate to a trans right charity $1 for every listen we get for this episode of We Can Do Pod Things- Sometimes it's ok to shut your mouth and listen- between now and when the next episode drops. It's a small gesture that we can make to say thank you to JVN for being a courageous activist even when he shouldn't have to be.
