    Okay, Okay, it turns out we were DEAD wrong on our ILFORD Film predictions. However, that isn't a bad thing! Matt Parry, marketing manager for ILFORD Photo, is in New York City for PhotoPlus. He graciously spares some time to tell us about the new ILFORD Product releases. This is our first time having ILFORD join us, and we hope to have them on for many future product announcements!

    "Globally, 70-80% of photography students are women – yet they account for only 13-15% of professional photographers. Data from the US Census Bureau in 2019 shows that 73% of Photographers are 'White (Non-Hispanic),' compared to 62% of the population, while 8% of photographers are Black and 5% are Asian, compared to 12% and 6% of the population respectively."

    UK-based photographer Izzie Farr, guests on the show to discuss how she identified a lack of diversity in the images Kodak curates on their social media site and how the letter titled, 'Dear Kodak' went viral throughout the film photography community.

    The Uyghur People of Xinjiang: An interview with Patrick Wack's Book 'Dust'

    Documentary Photographer Patrick Wack travels to the Xinjiang Autonomous Region to document China's westward expansion into Central Asia. Upon learning the mass incarceration and human rights violations of the Uyghur people, Patrick returns to Xinjiang to photograph the second part of his book, "The Night is Thick," describing the region as an Orwellian dystopia.

     

    Patrick Wack shares his experience traveling through the region, telling his stories in photographing people who are facing modern-day cultural genocide. Patrick takes these images and has put them together to create a body of work called 'Dust.'

    Kodak removes photojournalist Pat Wack, photo from their Instagram account after upsetting the Chinese Communist Government when describing the images from his upcoming photo book, 'DUST,' as an Orwellian Dystopia. The photographic community is angered by the action. We break down what happened and try to make sense of Kodak's reasoning for taking the photo down.
