    About this Episode

Today I talk to John Reed owner from Anytime Fitness and my brother and fellow #gym rat, Wayne Crear about how #COVID19 affected their lives before, during, and after the closing of health clubs. Reed mentions what makes their gym different than the other clubs in his area and how he helped  fellow members deal with their gym fees. Crear explains what the #reopening of the gym means for him and what his first day back was like. For more information about Reed's Anytime Fitness click here: https://bit.ly/2TxnvDh

A Day in the Life of a COVID-19 Compliance Officer

A Day in the Life of a COVID-19 Compliance Officer

For three months, the television and film industry in Georgia stood still. No one worked and many had to find other means of employment to make ends meet. Through the joint development of the Unions and Guilds, as well as leading epidemiologists and experts, the creation of "The Safe Way Forward" established a detailed set of science-based protocols serving as a path for Employers to uphold their responsibility of providing safe workspaces. The Guidelines also served as a necessary element of a return to work for Unions and Guilds representing films and television casts and crews.

One of the things that evolved were the positions of a COVID-19 Compliance Officer, which is what I do. In this episode I discuss what exactly I do and why it's so important to have one on set. Take a listen and hear how you can protect your home by adding some of these techniques.

This episode has two parents who elected to keep their children home and one who decided to send her child back to school. Although the interviews were anonymous, one can hear the frustration in their voices.

Why are We Just Hearing About Elijah McClain Now?

Why are We Just Hearing About Elijah McClain Now?
On August 24, 2019, at approximately 10:30 pm, 23-year old Elijah McClain walked home after purchasing ice tea from a convenience store. He wore earbuds to hear his music and because of his blood condition, anemia, he wore a black mask so he wouldn’t get cold. Aurora Police received a phone call advising them that McClain “looked sketchy” so they approached McClain and asked him to stop. McClain didn’t stop walking and that is when things escalated.

When it seemed like NASCAR’s situation could not get any more intense, a noose was found in Wallace’s garage stall at Alabama’s Talladega Superspeedway, hosting a Cup Series race. According to ABC News, NASCAR launched an investigation into the situation. NASCAR President Steve Phelps said Monday that those responsible would be “banned from this sport for life.” He adds, “There is no room for this at all,” he said at a news briefing. “We won’t tolerate it. They won’t be here. I don’t care who they are; they will not be here.”
