    About this Episode

Jerry was born onNovember 25, 1939 . In November of 1999 he had just begun his internet adventures and on the eve of that birthday he wrote about his plans for the future in the article linked here. I discovered it recently while searching the directory for something else and thought you would find it inspiring as well as being pure Jerry.

By the way, keep in mind that it was written 16 years ago, so some information is dated but I kept it as he wrote it. Also, there's an embedded snippet of song by Peggy Lee at the very beginning, which Jerry refers to; however, on some browsers it might not play, so don't be confused - just keep reading - Jane Swartley

Jerry Pippin R.I.P. Dru Keyser Swanson and I intended to bid you Godspeed tomorrow, but we agree that we should not venture up to Oklahoma. So goodbye my dear dear friend. Now you and Wilhite behave yo...Paula Alexander Latshaw

Today would have been his 79th birthday….Happy Heavenly Birthday! Jerry loved celebrating birthdays…especially his… Every year he and his sister, Beverly, celebrated together...Remembering Jerry Pippin with...Roberta Scott

February 26, 2012 - On an unusually bright, sunny morning in February my best friend Buster passed away He had been struggling with the ravages of old age but many times displayed a spark of life which made him seem like a puppy. Buster: a companion through good times and bad. We had traveled together through the high life of success. He accompanied me to do many broadcasts and he was always there when things did not go well. Words fail me in my appreciation and love, now tinged with despair.A man and his dog form a special bond and I have been through this before. .My dear departed friend of 50+ years, Jerry Wilhite, called my attention to the classic poem, Rainbow Bridge. It is not known who wrote it, but it comes as close to anything I have seen to offering a balance of sadness with hope and joy as we review the precious memories of our beloved pets. We include it here not only as a tribute to our loss but for all those who have lost their beloved friends.

Today I am 60. I have a new project. The one I have been waiting for...all these years... I just didn't know it. My eyes still sparkle when I think about doing my shows on the INTERNET.. it's different from radio...TV...or anything that has come before...MULTI-MEDIA is the answer and those who resist will be left behind.

I feel like that 28 year old guy who had a chance to buy an FM station in Muskogee in 1968 when FM was something people had just started to become aware of static free, high fidelity, stereo radio. I think this will be bigger than FM ever thought about being... I am ready for the challenge even though my hair is graying and the lines on my face have grown deep.

I have never planned to retire. I am one of the lucky ones; having more fun doing what I am doing than any vacation time. How long will I be able to continue this adventure in cyberspace.. hopefully for a couple of decades or more...but at 60, when many of my friends are beginning to appear in the obituary pages...I know I must do as the song says...take it all... One Day at a TIME...my www friends...One Day at a TIME." Jerry Pippin

The Selling of the Democratic Party
“I think when the night is over, Joe Biden will be the prohibitive favorite to win the Democratic nomination, and quite frankly, if the night ends the way it has begun, I think it is time for us to shut this primary down, it is time for us to cancel the rest of these debates — because you don’t do anything but get yourself in trouble if you continue in this contest when it’s obvious that the numbers will not shake out for you,” Jim Clyburn (Sellout in Chief)
