Paul Miller is an International Speaker and Variety Artist and Dawn Daria is the Chief Education Officer at Flow Circus, the leadership development and training company that they started together in 1999. Together they travel the world, teach kids and adults from Kindergartens to Corporations, and share their “Flopsosophy” through juggling and “skill toys”. In this interview Jason learns about why it’s important to “drop the ball”, to wipe away preconceived notions of success, and to always believe in the idea of “I can from where I am”. This is a fun-filled conversation about mindset, juggling, working together, and how laughter and self-awareness can come from our unavoidable stumbles as humans.

"Benjamin McKean Williams is an innovative educator, consultant, and the Assistant Director of New Student Orientation at Georgia State University. In this interview Ben shares creative ways to fund orientation and activities programs and explains the importance in understanding "the foundation" of sponsorship programs. Ben also explains the benefits of building and maintaining relationships with people who say "NO", as they may eventually become your most generous of supporters. In this interview Jason discovers that Ben loves great white sharks, that he sometimes feels like a "hot mess express", and that we sometimes need to "hit bottom to rise up". Ben is a great resource with tons of great advice. At the core of Ben's sponsorship programs is the desire to find a way to "enhance the student experience" by getting "more money to do cool stuff"!

Katy Hurst, M.Ed., LPC-MHSP, is the former Student Care Coordinator in The Office of The Dean of Students at Vanderbilt University and is now a Licensed Professional Counselor. Katy explains that the ability to feel empathy is something that makes us beautiful as humans. “Empathy” can also open us up to experiencing “collective trauma” which can lead to a “dysregulated nervous system”. Katy also explains that knowing this about ourselves can help us better understand how we feel. You need to “Name It to Tame It”. In this interview Katy helps Jason gain perspective on the way he has reacted to the 2020 tornado that went through his neighborhood. She teaches him helpful breathing techniques and provides helpful resources. Katy met Jason when he was presenting at a poetry festival at her high school in Virginia. Yes, that’s right, Katy’s high school! This is a fun interview as the two of them chat about her high school's “Poetry Festival” and Katy’s journey from singing along with Jason as a 14 year old audience member to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.

The long lost interview is finally found!!! Although this interview took place in September of 2020, the advice and content are timeless. Heidi explains how she created a newsletter designed for Club/Org/Greek advisors and how her monthly outreach has helped solve their communication problems. Across the country, so many of the volunteer advisors are in need of more support, community, and connection to other advisors. Heidi explains how the newsletter has brought her campus community together and she also encourages all campuses to do the same. In addition to the newsletters, Heidi also created an “Advisor Handbook”, and in this interview she shares the story of how she created these resources and the links to both!!!
