We are talking about it now because NOW is when the structure is being developed so that it is ready to go for the Public Input stage for the 2029 NEC.

    In the 2026 NEC, which we are working on right now, a structure matrix will be available so that folks understand what is expected for the next cycle, which would be the 2029 NEC. The time to give your input is now while it is being developed.
