    Thunderbird & Sasquatch: The Folklore

    Thunderbird & Sasquatch: The Folklore

This week, we explore the history of two great legendary cryptids through the stories and folklore of the indigenous communities that created them: the Thunderbird and the Sasquatch. Has humankind been watched over by powerful birds and secretive ape-men for thousands of years? Are they prehistoric creatures that live on in hiding? Could a bigfoot sighting trigger the end of the world? We explore folklore from many different First Nations and Native American tribes, describing these creatures in many different ways: as protectors, as creators, as both good and bad omens, and most of all, as reminders to care for the land we all belong to.

Send us your giant bird encounters, Sasquatch stories, weird dreams, drive suggestions, and pet conspiracy theories (or literally whatever you want!) to dumbandrestlesspodcast@gmail.com, or DM us on Instagram at @dumbandrestlesspodcast or Twitter at @dumbrestlesspod! Foot Crimes

CONTENT WARNING: This episode contains graphic descriptions of violence, sexual assault and mutilation. Listener discretion is advised.

We're exploring some of the Pacific Northwest's darker histories and mysteries this week, and yeah, there's a lot of feet involved. Join us for a look at the life and crimes of Oregon's notoriously gross Molalla Forest Killer, who took 8 lives in the late 20th century. Then, puzzle along with your hosts as we unpack the truly bizarre case of the 21 severed feet that have washed up on the shores of the Salish Sea in the last decade.

Has something terrible happened to your feet? Do you have a theory as to WHY these mystery feet are washing up? DO YOU WANT TO BE EMAILED PICTURES OF MORGAN'S ADORABLE DOG? Tongue Tied Alien Mysteries

    Tongue Tied Alien Mysteries

Join us this week for an exciting and mysterious adventure into the infamous Gobekli Tepe, a large and surprisingly well preserved ancient site that full of massive monoliths with insanely unique motifs and carvings. It's pretty dang old, but exactly how old is it? And why is it here? Could it be the work of aliens, or just some super crafty indigenous people with some outside influence? We walk through the thought experiments of some ancient alien theorists on who built it and why!

Do aliens exist? These 60 kids from the Ariel School in Zimbabwe are absolutely convinced. We dive deep into the phenomenon of the early 90's where UFO's were seen in at least 5 different African countries, specifically the face to face contact with actual Grays and a playground full of children. Did any adult see to corroborate what they saw? OF COURSE NOT. Come with us as we talk about what they saw that day and how they were able to cope!

FIELD TRIP: Hunger! At Starvation Heights

Time for a very spooky FIELD TRIP! This week we drive up to the misty, haunted little town of Olalla, WA, to explore for ourselves the final resting place of the victims of Linda Hazzard, one of America's cruelest serial killers. Hazzard operated her murderous "health retreat", known as Starvation Heights, right here in Olalla and starved at least a dozen people to death. It's a great week to join us for some haunted history, as it is said to this very day that neither Hazzard's, nor her victims', souls have moved on….
