Hopelessness is a powerful feeling. It's one of the most agonizing places to be mentally and yet it's shocking how often we can wrestle with some level of hopelessness in our lives. Sometimes it's hopelessness around our health, sometimes relationships, sometimes finances, sometimes all of the above and then some. Many people drown in the feeling of hopelessness... can't see a way out, can't see a way forward, can't see anything good coming. If you've ever felt that way this is the message for you. We are diving into Psalm 77 that tackles hopelessness head on. The message is titled "Overcoming Hopelessness" and Psalm 77 gives us just that... a way to overcome! Have you ever looked at someone in your life and thought... "it's just not fair!" Maybe they are in better health, have more money, or just seem to be succeeding in life even though they're dishonest? It's easy to fall into the trap of envy. It's even easy to fall into a cycle of self pity. How do you snap out of those moments?


As we dive into Psalm 73 we see almost this exact situation... the Psalmist is crying out to God..."Why do wicked people seem to prosper and my life is so hard!?" There is so much to learn from this raw & honest psalm. Most importantly, we can learn what we need to free our souls from bitterness and envy.

Welcome to Generation Church!

Living in a beautiful yet broken world means we will experience a whole spectrum of emotions, including despair and depression. It can be spiritually debilitating. What are we to do in these moments? How are we to respond? Is there hope? Thankfully, we're not alone in this. In fact, the authors of Psalms have been there, done that...and wrote extremely honest songs about it all that we can glean from. If you've ever felt spiritually in the dumps, there is good news for you! Come join in as we explore the causes and cure of spiritual depression in Psalm 42.

Psalm 23 is possibly the most popular chapter in the entire Bible. It's known by many people in the secular world and across the religious landscape. Charles Spurgeon called it "The Pearl of the Psalms." What is it about these verses that strikes such a deep chord within humanity? Why is there anything positive about referring to yourself as a sheep? Why have so many people found incredible comfort and healing through these verses? Jump into this episode and find out!

The Psalms are the "prayerbook" or "songbook" of the Bible and this Sunday we start off looking deeply at Psalm 1... shocker right? Psalm 1 & 2 are unique to the other 148 Psalms... in many ways Psalm 1 serves as a lens with which we can approach the rest of the Psalter. Specifically, Psalm 1 lays out the Way to a Blessed Life or the type of person who lives a blessed life. I like that sound of that! Blessed Life? Who doesn't want that? How do we get that? Or how do we get more of a blessed life? The Psalmist shows us there is a way to the blessed life and we are excited to unpack that with you!

In any sport or activity the first thing you learn are the "fundamentals." They're the most basic elements of success... the building blocks so to speak for growth. Fundamentals in learning can be reading and writing; in sports they can be blocking, tackling, dribbling, passing, catching... the list goes on and on. Here's the thing though, no matter how proficient you become at a thing, you never outgrow the fundamentals. In fact, if you forget or don't execute fundamentals even as a "professional" (e.g. Philadelphia Eagles defense not tackling) you fail! So what is the fundamental building block of the Christian? What is the thing we need to repeat over and over again? This is our topic this Sunday as we dig into Jesus' words from the Gospel of Luke.  We hope you join us!

There's a lot of talk in the church about living the Christian life. It seems like we're constantly being told how to live for God. And it seems like the holy thing to do, right? Well, what if God isn't actually asking you to live for Him? What if He never intended for you to live the Christian life? What if this whole thing we call "the Christian life" is much different (and better) then we ever realized? We believe it is! Join us as we dive into John 15 and discover why.

Friendship is such a beautiful gift. But sadly, it's a gift fewer and fewer are experiencing. Research is showing the majority of US Adults are struggling to find, keep, or maintain close friendships. This has resulted in what some are calling "A Crisis of Friendship" in America leading to increased rates of loneliness and isolation. What can we do to change these tragic trends? How can scripture help us in the midst of increasingly lonely times? How can we find lasting and close friendships? How can we be an agent of hospitality in an increasingly lonely world? Jesus has much to say to us about all of this! Come join us as we dive into His Good News about Friendship!
