    About this Episode

This week I speak to the wonderful Lucy Ford, showbiz reporter turned social content creator (for Netflix, no less) and radio presenter, but constantly Extremely Online™️ person. Lucy is one of my very favourite people on the internet for her nuanced and insightful thoughts on online culture, and we discussed our shared love of boybands, creativity, being a positive force and - I couldn't help myself - the day she gave Reese Witherspoon her scented dissertation.

Elle Bower Johnston: Radical Embodiment, Mushrooms, And Being Connected

HELLO FOLKS, and Ellies of the world unite! Back after my mini hiatus (fellow old time One Direction fans...I feel the pain in that word too), I'm thrilled to be chatting to Elle Bower Johnston, the founder of Another Practice. Elle teaches radical embodiment to help people tune into their bodies, listen to their intuition and 'reattach their bodies to their head' - hell knows I need her in my life, as my tendency to go 'all in' on stuff means I don't have any sense of grounding. We also chatted about her love of mushrooms (it's a family show, don't worry!) and the interconnectedness of human life. She's a ray of sunshine and I loved this chat - I hope you do too!

Hadeel Hassan: Being A Good Doctor, Running, and Living Life

Hadeel Hassan: Being A Good Doctor, Running, and Living Life

Today's guest is the exceptional Hadeel Hassan, paediatric oncologist, ASICS Frontrunner, and, if I get my way, motivational speaker. Hadeel is a doctor (squared), an accomplished athlete, and an all round incredible human, and I loved hearing her chat about her enthusiasms as they were so wildly different from any of my own. Her view on life and how she treats her every day living were so inspiring, and I came away from it feeling so galvanised and ready to make the world a better place - I hope you love it too!

Mélanie Johnsson: Illustration, Open Water, and Creativity in Motherhood

Mélanie Johnsson: Illustration, Open Water, and Creativity in Motherhood

Today's episode is with Mélanie Johnsson, a freelance illustrator and creator of Spellbound Magazine, with a penchant for bright colours, good vibes, and eco-conscious messaging. I've been a fan of Mélanie's for a while now, so relished the chance to sit down with her (virtually) and ask what inspires her and what she's enthusiastic about! We chatted about her career as an illustrator and designer, her love for being near open water, and her need for creativity to always be involved in her life, as well as how excited she is about her imminent arrival.

Olive Pometsey: Writing, Dancefloors and Friends and Family

Olive Pometsey: Writing, Dancefloors and Friends and Family

Olive Pometsey is currently the Junior Digital Editor at British GQ, and her writing is some of my very, very favourite. Whether she's bringing us takes on culture, technology, fashion, or Mariah Carey - all important cornerstones of modern life, don't @ me - her brilliance seeps through every line. I loved chatting to her about her journey into writing, her love of dancefloors and festivals, and the importance of friends and family keeping us grounded and connected.

Zena Birch: Celebration, A Sense of Occasion, and Finding Joy in Everything (Even the devastating)

Zena Birch: Celebration, A Sense of Occasion, and Finding Joy in Everything (Even the devastating)

TODAAAAY I am joined by one of my favourite people in the entire world: Zena Birch, Humanist Celebrant.

Zena is a bottle of champagne in human form: effervescent, bubbly, luxurious, and one of the greatest things in life. It's quite daunting writing this description, because her way with words is so marvellous: and I loved listening to them as she gave a super honest and beautifully, generously raw insight into her enthusiasm for tradition, communing, creating a sense of occasion, and being alive and getting older.

Soeuf Shop: D-egg-cor, antiques shopping and a better future

HELLO and welcome to Ep 1 of Season 2 of The Enthusiast & Co! For today's episode I'm joined by Sophie, founder of Soeuf Shop, the egg-based decor brand taking your instagram feed by storm. Anyone who combines crafting, a love of food and a love of puns is already an excellent human in my eyes, so I loved talking to Sophie about finding her style this year, doing what's right, and her hope for a better future.

You can see her brilliantly egg-centric work & grab one for yourself from Soeuf Shop

Jackie Adedeji: People, Making The Most Of Everything, And Making Pals in Uber Pools

TODAY IS SUCH A TREAT - I have the wonderful Jackie Adedeji, podcaster, columnist and presenter, on the podcast today. But what I can't adequately put into words here is Jackie's ENERGY that she brings to everyday, and certainly brought to this episode. We discussed her enthusiasm for people, and how amazing we are in our similarities and our differences; her penchant for making the most of everything in life; and how much she loves chatting to new people and learning about them (including in Uber Pools.) I defy you to listen to this and not feel MEGA energised and inspired by Jackie's incredible chat!

Jamie Spafford from SORTEDFood: Cooking, conversation and community

Jamie Spafford from SORTEDFood: Cooking, conversation and community

I basically had to hyperventilate into a brown paper bag just before this recording, that's how excited I was about interviewing the lovely Jamie Spafford, co-founder of SORTEDFood. What started out as a humble Youtube channel and 4 guys wanting to learn more about cooking has now amassed 2.4m subscribers (no biggy) and over 600 million views (similarly, no biggy...), and grown to include apps, cookbooks, and an online club for foodies everywhere. And, if I may say so myself, it's crystal clear and such a delight that cooking, community and (dare I say) enthusiasm are still at the heart of every single thing they do.

You can catch the YouTube channel here, learn more about the club here, and catch them on instagram here and here
