About this Episode

Around the year AD 26 or 27, John, the son of Zechariah and Elizabeth, begins his ministry of announcing the coming of the Messiah, in fulfillment of the prophecies of Isaiah (see Isaiah 40:1–5) and Malachi (see Malachi 3:1–5). To prepare the way then of the Coming One, a person was to be immersed in water.
