Sit down with Shelby as she interviews Micol Hebron - an interdisciplinary artist whose practice includes studio work, curating, writing, social media, crowd-sourcing, teaching, public-speaking, and both individual and collaborative projects. Hebron is an Associate Professor of Art at Chapman University; the founder/director of The Situation Room resource space for the creative community; the Gallery Tally Poster Project about gender equity in contemporary galleries; and the Digital Pasty/Gender Equity initiative for the internet; The Situation Room - a project space for the creative community; the Feminist Friday community conversation series; Feminist Summer Camp in Utah, and Feminist Field Studies at the Centre Pompadour in Northern France. First, Shelby covers Joy Buolamwini, an MIT grad student who discovered AI facial recognition could not register some faces due to racial and gender bias. And she's doing something about it! Shelby goes WAY back to the Roman Empire (something men apparently think of on the daily) and discusses the tumultuous end of Fausta's arranged marriage to Constantine. Amy makes it a bit more current while she explains the MANY divorces of screen siren Lana Turner.
