For the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) annual conference in Tucson, Arizona, at the Café Latino bilingual reading series at the Café Passé, C.M. Mayo reads "Café San Martin" by Mexican poet Agustín Cadena, together with her translation into English. An excerpt from C.M. Mayo's translation of Francisco I. Madero's Spiritist Manual, originally published in 1911 as Manual espírita. Madero was the leader of Mexico's 1910 Revolution and President of Mexico from 1911-1913.
The complete translation is included in C.M. Mayo's book, Metaphysical Odyssey into the Mexican Revolution: Francisco I. Madero and His Secret Book, Spiritist Manual (Dancing Chiva, 2014), which won the National Indie Excellence Award for History.
