    Podcast Summary

    • LinkedIn: A Hidden Talent Pool for Small BusinessesLinkedIn offers a large pool of passive job seekers for small businesses to consider for hiring. Posting jobs on LinkedIn can lead to finding qualified candidates who may not be actively seeking new opportunities.

LinkedIn is a valuable resource for small businesses looking to hire professionals, as it hosts a large number of candidates who may not be actively seeking new jobs but could be open to the right opportunity. Sandra, the professional mentioned in the text, emphasizes that she was not found on other leading job sites and encourages businesses to post their jobs on LinkedIn. Additionally, the text shares a poignant story about Avtar Singh Khanda, a British citizen who died unexpectedly and was involved in conspiracy theories regarding Indian assassinations and government cover-ups. The text also reveals that British intelligence services may have been involved in his arrest in India. This story highlights the importance of being aware of global events and potential human rights issues, and the role that individuals and organizations can play in shedding light on such matters.

    • Avtar Khanda, a Sikh activist, faces accusations and asylum in the UKAvtar Khanda, a prominent Sikh activist, sought asylum in the UK amidst accusations of radicalizing young Sikhs and clamping down on certain organizations and media channels by the Indian government.

Avtar Khanda, a prominent Sikh activist, gained attention for speaking out for Sikh prisoners' rights in India. His charisma and family history as a martyr's son led to his recognition. However, when the Indian government, led by Narendra Modi, visited the UK in 2015, Avtar was accused of radicalizing young Sikhs and trying to clamp down on certain organizations and media channels. This allegedly led Avtar to claim asylum in the UK. In 2023, a protest at the Indian High Commission in London resulted in the Indian flag being taken down, with Avtar being named as a suspect. Despite claims that he arrived after the incident, his image and name were plastered in the Indian press as a terrorist. Avtar continued to attend protests but kept a low social media profile. In 2023, thousands gathered in Trafalgar Square to remember the storming of the Golden Temple in Amritsar, and Avtar was met by a large crowd. The incident with the Indian flag remains a diplomatic issue between India and the UK.

    • The Golden Temple Massacre and its aftermath have left deep scars on the Sikh community and fueled calls for an independent homeland (Khalistan)The Golden Temple Massacre of 1984 and its aftermath led to deep tensions between the Sikh community and the Indian government, with calls for an independent homeland and religious minorities being seen as second-class citizens in the Hindutva ideology.

The Golden Temple Massacre of 1984 and the subsequent events have left deep scars on the Sikh community in India, leading to calls for an independent homeland (Khalistan) and fueling tensions between Sikhs and the Indian government. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's assassination by her Sikh bodyguards and the resulting anti-Sikh riots led to the deaths of thousands, including a bombing of an Air India flight from Toronto to London. For current Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this history serves as a reason to be wary of Sikh separatists and their perceived threat. However, critics argue that Modi's portrayal of the Khalistan cause serves electoral purposes, appealing to his Hindu nationalist base. The democratic foundations of India have been laid under question, with institutions' autonomy compromised, and religious minorities, including Sikhs, seen as second-class citizens in the Hindutva ideology. The tragic death of a young Sikh activist, Avtar Kanda, under suspicious circumstances shortly after a remembrance event, further highlights the tensions and mistrust between the Sikh community and the Indian government.

    • Geopolitical tensions put individuals at riskStay informed about global events and potential threats, as political tensions can put individuals in danger, even in seemingly safe locations. Utilize LinkedIn for hiring and consider price adjustments for business plans to attract customers.

The geopolitical landscape can lead to threats against individuals, even in seemingly safe locations. The podcast discusses various instances of alleged assassination plots against individuals in different parts of the world, including the UK and Canada. One such case involves two Sikh men, Mohinder Singh and Hardeep Singh Nejjar, who received threats to their lives from the Canadian government in 2022. Based on the agency that approached them, they believed the threat was from India. The men were active campaigners for a Sikh homeland, and Hardeep was known for his vocal demands and publicity. This case highlights the complexities of international relations and the potential risks individuals can face due to political tensions. On a different note, the podcast also touches upon the importance of utilizing platforms like LinkedIn for hiring professionals. Sandra, a potential candidate, emphasizes that a significant percentage of LinkedIn users don't visit other job sites, making it an excellent resource for finding top talent. Additionally, Mint Mobile's Ryan Reynolds discusses the company's decision to lower its unlimited plan's price, offering a more affordable option for customers. These stories demonstrate the importance of staying informed about various topics, from geopolitical tensions to business trends.

    • Assassination of a Sikh leader leads to diplomatic tensions between Canada and IndiaAssassinations can have far-reaching consequences, involving diplomatic tensions and geopolitical complexities

The threat to life can come unexpectedly, and the aftermath can lead to complex geopolitical situations. Mawinder's friend Hardeep Singh Nejjar was assassinated outside a Sikh temple in Vancouver, and the suspected involvement of Indian authorities led to diplomatic tensions between Canada and India. The situation escalated when an unnamed Indian government employee was allegedly involved in a plot to hire a hitman to kill another critic of the Modi regime on US soil. Despite these allegations, India denied involvement, and relations between the two countries became strained. This incident highlights the complexities of international relations and the potential consequences of violent acts.

    • Allegations of Indian Official's Role in Assassinations of Sikh LeadersAn Indian official is accused of coordinating assassinations of Sikh leaders in Canada and the US, with a middleman, and communicating details via video and address. The US has reacted strongly, while the Sikh community in the UK raises concerns about potential cover-ups and involvement of Indian authorities.

An Indian government official is allegedly linked to coordinating assassination attempts against Sikh leaders in different countries, including a successful one in Canada and a foiled one in the US. The official reportedly communicated with a middleman, who was under investigation by the US, about the assassinations. The official had sent a video of the victim's body in Canada and the address of the intended victim in the US. The US has taken serious actions against India, including blocking a military drone deal, due to the foiled plot. The Sikh community in the UK is raising concerns about potential cover-ups and involvement of Indian authorities in the deaths of their leaders, who were all activists for Sikh independence. The community is demanding answers due to inconsistencies in the circumstances of the deaths and the information provided. The allegations against India have red flags for the Sikh community, and they believe that these were sophisticated and orchestrated attacks.

    • Family faces obstacles in pursuit of private autopsyFamilies seeking answers and closure in suspicious deaths may face challenges from authorities, leading to mistrust and confusion.

The family of Avtar Kandola faced numerous obstacles in their pursuit of a private autopsy after his sudden death, which raised suspicions and fueled concerns within the Sikh community. The National Crime Agency took control of the body, refusing to allow the family to view it or grant an autopsy. The coroner also refused to perform an autopsy without a police investigation, leading to a standstill. The family eventually arranged for a private autopsy, but faced further obstacles in transferring the body and gaining access to it. The delays and refusals from authorities added to the family's confusion and mistrust, leading them to believe there was something being hidden. The case highlights the challenges faced by families seeking answers and closure in suspicious deaths, and the importance of transparency and communication from authorities in such situations.

    • British Sikh activist's death sparks concerns of foreign involvement and cover-upsThe death of a British Sikh activist has fueled speculation and mistrust within the community, with some believing Indian agents may have been involved and fearing for their safety. Circumstantial evidence and lack of clear information from authorities add to concerns.

The death of Aftar Sankhara, a British Sikh activist, has raised serious concerns within the Sikh community regarding potential involvement of foreign agents and cover-ups by the British authorities. The lack of clear information and responses from relevant authorities has fueled speculation and mistrust, with some believing that Indian agents may have been involved in his death. This belief is supported by circumstantial evidence, including the fact that two of Sankhara's friends had received death threats or narrowly escaped assassination attempts, and that British intelligence services may have been involved in the arrest of another Sikh activist in India. The Sikh community feels targeted and fears for their safety, with some even comparing the situation to Western countries' past practices of exerting influence abroad. The case highlights the complexities of international relations and the potential for tensions to impact marginalized communities within a country.
