In the geopolitical scene, the Israeli Defense Forces are determined to bring home hostages held by Hamas, with ongoing military operations taking precedence over potential truce deals. Despite this, the long-term goals include Hamas' removal from power and improved security for the region.

    • The Complexity of the Gaza SituationHamas' past actions and abuse of power, humanitarian crisis, and potential civilian casualties call for limiting civilian harm and finding a new solution for Gaza governance.

The situation in Gaza is complex and requires careful consideration. The speaker suggests that Hamas, which currently governs Gaza, cannot be trusted to continue doing so due to their past actions, including building tunnels and weapon arsenals, and their abuse of power. The speaker also emphasizes the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza, with thousands of Palestinians killed and wounded, and a lack of medical facilities and resources. The Israeli military is preparing to enter Rafah, where a large number of civilians have gathered, raising concerns about potential civilian casualties. The speaker acknowledges the horrific nature of the situation but argues that inaction would mean allowing Hamas to continue their destructive actions. Therefore, limiting civilian casualties and finding a new solution for governing Gaza is crucial.

    • IDF's Efforts to Minimize Civilian Casualties in Gaza ConflictThe IDF is taking steps to reduce civilian casualties, but the humanitarian crisis in Gaza raises concerns about the long-term implications of the conflict and the assumption that victory will resolve the issue.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are taking unprecedented precautions to limit civilian casualties during the ongoing conflict in Gaza, but the reality is that no modern war comes without civilian casualties. The situation is tragic for both Palestinians and Israelis, with a significant portion of the population in Gaza being children. The IDF is engaged in a humanitarian operation to increase supplies, but it's not enough. The IDF's conduct in minimizing civilian casualties is being praised by military experts, but the scale of civilian casualties raises concerns that the conflict may only worsen the radicalization among Palestinians rather than decrease it. The IDF is increasing supplies daily, with 366 truckloads entering Gaza the previous day, but the distribution is inadequate. The IDF condemns the trivialization of the conflict by soldiers and acknowledges the need to be cautious in the age of social media. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza necessitates a wider question about the long-term implications of the conflict and the assumption that victory will end the problem rather than making it worse.

    • Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza: Complex issue with deep-rooted tensionsMilitary actions to dismantle Hamas come with significant costs, alternatives to military force are limited, long-term solution required involving diplomacy, international intervention, and commitment to peace

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza is a complex issue with deep-rooted ideological and political tensions. The military actions taken to dismantle Hamas as a governing authority and terrorist entity come with significant human costs and potential consequences. While the goal is to restore safety and security to Israelis, the devastation and destruction in Gaza may fuel more radicalism and violence. The alternatives to military force are limited, and the ideology of Hamas and other radical groups is deeply entrenched. The conflict requires a long-term solution, involving diplomacy, international intervention, and a genuine commitment to peace and coexistence. The use of military force must be done in accordance with the laws of armed conflict and with a clear understanding of the potential consequences. Ultimately, the only way to truly address the root causes of the conflict is through dialogue and understanding between the parties involved.

    • Israeli and Palestinian Conflict: Complex Causes and FailuresBoth Israeli and Palestinian parties are involved in a cycle of violence, with Israeli politicians holding inflammatory views and Netanyahu seeking to prolong the conflict for political and personal reasons, leading to a lack of commitment to find a peaceful solution.

The situation in Gaza is complex and contentious, with both Israeli and Palestinian parties involved in a cycle of violence and retaliation. Colonel Peter Lerner, an Israeli spokesperson, acknowledged the failures of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) during the recent conflict but stopped short of criticizing the Israeli government. Mehdi Hasan, however, pointed out that the Israeli government is filled with politicians holding inflammatory views, and Netanyahu's cabinet is packed with right-wing figures. Netanyahu's desire to prolong the conflict may be driven not only by political reasons but also by personal ones, as he faces legal troubles and hopes for a better deal from a potential Trump presidency. Ultimately, there seems to be a lack of genuine commitment from both sides to find a peaceful solution, leading to a seemingly endless cycle of violence.

    • Gaza hostage situation: Moral implications debatedThe Gaza hostage situation highlights the complexities and moral debates surrounding Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with potential for further conflict and ICC arrest warrants for Israeli officials.

The situation in Gaza continues to be a complex and contentious issue, with the recent hostage situation adding another layer of complexity. The families of the hostages believe that a deal was blocked by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, and this has been a point of contention. The moral implications of the situation are debatable, with some arguing that Israel's response to the terrorist attacks was justified, while others believe that the use of force against Hamas should be reconsidered. Regardless, the situation is far from over, and the potential for further conflict remains high. It's important to note that the situation is dynamic, and new developments are constantly emerging. For instance, there have been reports of ICC arrest warrants for Israeli officials, which could add another dimension to the conflict. Overall, the situation requires careful consideration and a nuanced understanding of the historical and political context.

    • Response to civilian deaths varies based on military operationsUS actions against ISIS cause less outrage due to different procedures and accountability structures. Peace, freedom, and an end to occupation are crucial for long-term solutions.

The response to civilian deaths during military operations depends on who is carrying out the operations. The discussion highlighted the apparent lack of outrage when US forces went after ISIS in Iraq and Syria, despite significant civilian casualties, compared to the outrage towards Israel's actions in Gaza. The reason for this discrepancy may be due to the different military procedures and accountability structures in place. Additionally, Hamas' role in the conflict was acknowledged, but it was emphasized that military action alone is not a long-term solution to the conflict. Instead, peace, freedom, and an end to persecution and occupation are essential for resolving the root cause of the ongoing conflict. Ultimately, trust and verifiable actions towards a two-state solution or an equal state could potentially undercut the resistance argument and bring about lasting peace.

    • Negotiating with Enemies for PeaceTo achieve peace, it's crucial to negotiate with enemies like Hamas, despite their ideologies and actions. Addressing the root causes of support for these groups, such as occupation and persecution, is essential for long-term peace.

While both Hamas and certain Israeli officials have used inflammatory language, the context and actions behind the words matter. Hamas's charter calls for the destruction of Israel, and their actions include launching rockets into civilian areas. In contrast, while some Israeli officials have used rhetoric that borders on genocidal, they have not carried out such actions. The speaker argues that in order to move towards a two-state solution and peace, it's necessary to negotiate with enemies like Hamas, despite their ideologies and actions. The failure of past military interventions and the war on terror have shown that eliminating terrorist groups through force is not a viable solution. Instead, addressing the root causes of support for these groups, such as occupation and persecution, is crucial for long-term peace.

    • Israeli-Palestinian conflict: Complex issue with deep historical rootsEncourage dialogue and peaceful negotiations to find a solution respecting rights and dignity of all people involved.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a complex issue with deep historical roots and no easy solutions. While there may be disagreements on tactics, it's clear that civilian casualties are a concern and that peaceful negotiations are the preferred path towards peace. The ideology of Hamas may persist, but the form it takes and the ability for Israel and Hamas to make deals are uncertain. The use of violence in protests, such as those at Columbia University, should be condemned, and it's essential to understand the historical context and implications of terms like "intifada." Ultimately, the goal should be to encourage dialogue and negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians to find a solution that respects the rights and dignity of all people involved.

    • A term associated with violent uprisings in the Israeli-Palestinian conflictThe term 'intifada' has historical significance in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but it's important to distinguish between peaceful and violent uses of the term.

The term "intifada" refers to an uprising or rebellion, and it has been used to describe both peaceful and violent movements throughout history. However, in the context of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the term has primarily been associated with violent uprisings. During the first intifada in the late 1980s and early 1990s, there was significant violence from both sides, but the majority of deaths occurred among Palestinians. More recently, during protests on college campuses in the US, some students have used the term "intifada" to call for an uprising against Israeli policies towards Palestinians. While the protests themselves have not been violent, some slogans used during these protests have been criticized as anti-Semitic. It's important to recognize the historical context of the term and to distinguish between peaceful and violent uses of the term.

    • College Campus Tensions: Disproportionate Targeting of Jewish Students?Concerns of disproportionate targeting of Jewish students on college campuses exist, with reports of derogatory comments, arrests, and physical attacks. It's essential to promote open dialogue and peaceful resolution to prevent further harm to students on both sides.

The tension between Palestinian and Jewish students on college campuses has resulted in violent clashes and intimidation from both sides. However, there are concerns that the police response and certain individuals have disproportionately targeted Jewish students, leading to harassment, arrests, and even physical attacks. For instance, at Columbia University, Professor Shai Davidai has been criticized for his derogatory comments towards Jewish and Muslim professors. Meanwhile, at UCLA, there have been reports of violent confrontations initiated by pro-Israeli counter-protesters, including instances of racial slurs and physical assaults against Palestinian students. It's crucial to acknowledge the harm caused to students on both sides and encourage open dialogue and peaceful resolution.

    • Protests against Israeli-Palestinian conflict turn violentProtests for Israeli-Palestinian divestment turn violent, leading to arrests and clashes with law enforcement. The complex issue demands understanding of historical context and nuanced arguments on both sides.

While the current protests against Israeli-Palestinian conflict started peacefully on college campuses, they have turned violent in some instances, leading to arrests and clashes with law enforcement. The protesters demand divestment from companies profiting from Israel, a reasonable demand according to some, but the use of force and violence has been criticized. The discussion also touched upon the historical context of the Intifada and the ongoing conflict, as well as the impact of media depiction on public perception. It's important to note that the situation is complex and nuanced, and there are valid arguments on both sides. The conversation ended on a positive note, with the acknowledgement of the importance of free speech and the potential for new media ventures like Zateo to challenge traditional media norms.

    Can Democrats Replace Biden?

    Can Democrats Replace Biden?

Amazingly, it seems that last week’s car crash presidential debate has done little to persuade the Democrats to change course, as Joe Biden remains the candidate they back to take on Donald Trump in November's election. Piers Morgan not only believes this to be a colossal mistake, but also openly wonders if the incumbent will make it to election day. The main target of his ire is First Lady herself, Jill Biden.

Piers brings host of 'The Michael Knowles Show' Michael Knowles, host of 'The Bitchuation Room' podcast Francesca Fiorentini, host of 'Tomi Lahren is Fearless' on Outkick Tomi Lahren, streamer and commentator Destiny and Fox News medical contributor Dr Marc Siegel on the show to discuss the abysmal state of affairs in the Biden camp.

Biden Vs Trump Debate: The Uncensored Verdict

Biden Vs Trump Debate: The Uncensored Verdict

The first US presidential debate was held last night, and for Joe Biden supporters at least, it was a nightmare come to life. While Donald Trump predictably resorted to embellishment and non-truths, the President seemed frail, confused and lost. Piers Morgan wonders how long the Democrats can continue to hold him up as their nominee - and if they do switch, who could they possibly put forward to oppose Trump?

Joining Piers Morgan Uncensored to dissect this debacle is podcaster Vinny Oshana, host of The Young Turks Cenk Uygur, Trump’s former lawyer Jenna Ellis, Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, Republican US Senate candidate for Arizona Kari Lake, Joe Biden's former White House advisor Moe Vela and RNC spokeswoman Elizabeth Pipko. Suffice it to say, the pro-Biden camp spoke to his legislative achievements, but no one seems to want to defend the performance that was seen around the world.

    00:00 - Introduction

05:10 - Cenk Uygur gives his reaction to the presidential debate

09:09 - Piers asks Hasan Piker if Biden should continue in Office

45:42 - Hasan calls for America to “ put Mama Gretch in office”

53:07- Pro-Biden TikTok influencer Harry Sisson joins

01:03:20 - Elizabeth Pipko: “We’re in uncharted territory, this is genuinely a sad time”

Biden Vs Trump: Presidential Debate Preview

Biden Vs Trump: Presidential Debate Preview

The presidential debate between President Biden and former President Trump is one of the most anticipated in TV history.

And in a knife edge election it could also be the most consequential.

    It’s 45 versus 46, Biden v Trump: The Rematch.

This time President Biden is debating as the deeply unpopular incumbent, and it’s Trump promising to restore normality.

But can he stay on message?

Is the format - with no audience, muted mics between questions and two commercial breaks - rigged against him?

Have Republicans set the bar too low by predicting the ailing President will barely be able to stay on his feet?

This Friday we’ll host an Uncensored special, with some heavyweight guests to debate the fallout, but there is already plenty to discuss with our pack...

    Joining us:

From the Officer Tatum YouTube channel, Brandon Tatum

    Former Congressman, Joe Walsh

    Piers Morgan Vs George Galloway

    Piers Morgan Vs George Galloway

British politician George Galloway - who is renown for his staunch support of Palestine and scathing criticism of Western foreign policies - joins Piers Morgan Uncensored for a deep dive into current events during a fascinating feature-length interview.

On the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Piers presses Galloway to denounce the killings of innocents by Hamas in Israel on Oct 7th. Galloway responds by saying that while killing children and the elderly is terrorism, "if you keep 2.3 million people in a cage, they’re going to try and break out". The pair also discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with Galloway declaring that he actually trusts Putin "more than Keir Starmer, Joe Biden or Donald Trump". Piers doesn’t let up, and George doesn’t back down...

Plus, in a surprise turn, Galloway reveals that he has fallen victim to Fiona Harvey of Baby Reindeer notoriety's stalking.

Assange Walks Free: The Debate w/RFK Jr.

After years of legal battles and tensions with the governments of multiple countries, WikiLeaks founder and Australian citizen Julian Assange left a UK prison following a London High Court bail order on Monday.

Assange is expected to plead guilty to a single espionage charge in a court appearance on a tiny US-controlled Pacific island and prosecutors will seek a sentence equivalent to time served.

US officials were pursuing the Australian over charges related to a huge disclosure of secret files in 2010, which they said put lives in danger.

But is he a hero or villain?

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. returns to Uncensored to give his verdict.

But first, Piers is joined by Author Michael Shellenberger, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Conservative commentator Ben Ferguson and former Tory MP Louise Mensch

Jeffrey Sachs: On Putin's Peace Demands

Jeffrey Sachs: On Putin's Peace Demands

President Putin wants peace. At least that’s what he wants you to believe.

The Russian dictator has, for the first time, outlined his terms for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

He’s demanding the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from four regions which are currently occupied by Russia, and which it claims to have annexed.

Italy’s prime minister Giorgia Meloni, speaking at this weekend’s peace summit of world leaders, said he’s effectively telling Ukraine to withdraw from… Ukraine.

But if Putin’s real aim was to feign innocence for his apologists and score another propaganda victory, he may have been successful.

To debate, We're joined by Professor Jeffrey Sachs.

It’s been just over 100 days since Hamas’s attack on Israel, and the costs of the war are staggering. In polling from late fall, 64 percent of Gazans reported that a family member had been killed or injured. Nearly two million Gazans — almost the entire population — have been displaced from their homes, and analysis of satellite imagery reveals that about half the buildings in the Gaza Strip have probably been destroyed or damaged.

Israel believes that more than 100 hostages are being held captive in Gaza, and polling reveals that Hamas has gained popularity among Palestinians while support for Israel has plummeted around the world. When this war ends, will Israel really be safer? Who will govern Gaza? What will be left of Gaza?

Good morning. I'm Amy Morris and I'm Karen Moscow. Here are the stories we're following today. First, let's bring you the latest developments on the war in the Middle East. Israel has widened its ground offensive in Gaza, pressing ahead with what it has called the second phase of its war against a moss We get the latest now from Bloomberg to Oliver Crook in Tel Aviv over the weekend. We had sort of that step up in terms of ground activity within Gaza in the fourth week of this conflict, and now a new chapter in it, it seems like, and that's really how he was described by the Prime Minister. Remember, there had been sort of puncture poles and sort of slight incursions in the lead up to this, but this was really the biggest step up in terms of ground troops and tanks going into Gaza, but still falls short critically of the full scale invasion that many people had envisioned and how this battle was going to go. Bloomberg's Oliver Crook in Tel Aviv reports Israel has struck more than six hundred militant targets in Gaza in recent days. Well, Amy, the military escalation comes as Israel's Prime minister criticism over his unwillingness to accept any responsibility for the October seventh attack. Benjamin Netanyahu caused controversy with a social media post where he pointed the finger at intelligence chiefs for the security lapse. He later deleted the post and apologized. Net Yahoo, speaking through an interpreter, addressed the nation our hero troops. They have one supreme main goal to completely defeat the murderous enemy and to guarantee our existence in this country. We've always said never again, Never again is now. And those comments come as Netanyahu spoke by phone with President Biden to discuss developments in Gaza. A Russian airport and a majority Muslim region has been temporarily shut down after a mob forced its way onto the tarmac where, according to reports, a plane from Israel had landed. It took hours to restore order. The Russian air Transport Agency says the airport will reopen tomorrow, after initially saying the regional hub may be closed for a week. Well amy back here in the US, House Speaker Mike Johnson said he expects the Republican led chamber to pass an Israel aid bill this week and he spoke to Fox News. We passed the resolution, as you noted, in strong support of our strong ally and great friend Israel. We had to do that. And then I flew last night to Las Vegas and spoke to the Republican Jewish Coalition, as you noted, to send a further signal that this isn't a priority for our country and we cannot allow the brutality and the just unspeakable evil that is happening against Israel right now to continue. We're going to stand with our friends, and Speaker Johnson added that he believes an Israel only bill will also receive bipartisan support in the Senate. And let's get you up to date on a couple of high profile court cases. First, Donald Trump lost his latest attempt to delay the partial gag order on him in his January sixth trial. Bloomberg's ed Baxter with that story. The partial gag order bars him from publicly criticizing prosecutors potential witnesses in court. Staff US District Judge Tanya Chutkin's ruling will immediately go into effect unless a higher court intervenes. Trump attorneys are expected to ask a federal appeals court to immediately step in the order was paused as a judge allowed further arguments. Prosecutors argue for a tighter gag, as they say a post regarding former chief of staff Mark Meadows, who flipped last week, would have violated the order if it were in effect ed. Baxter Bloomberg Radio all right ed thanks another trial news. FTX co founder Sam Bankman Freed returns to the stand today. He'll likely face a bruising cross examination from prosecutors after his Friday testimony, where he admitted to mistakes but said he didn't commit fraud. The case against Bankman Freed centers on allegedly fraudulent transfers of billions in FTX customer funds to an affiliated hedge fund, Alimeter Research, in which he held at ninety percent interest. Turning to the market's futures are higher as we begin a new trading week, S and P five hundred to enter da technic correction on Friday, with the benchmark closing ten percent below a recent peak. Morgan Stanley's Mike Wilson says investors hoping for a boost to stocks by the end of the year will be disappointed. Wilson says profit expectations are too high for the fourth quarter and next year. Melami. The direction of the equity market may be determined in part by some key events on the economic calendar. We get a preview from Bloomberg's Michael McKee. House prices and consumer confidence lead the way tomorrow before a big Wednesday ADP, employment, jolt's, job openings, and ism manufacturing. Thursday we get productivity and jobless claims, and Friday brings everyone's favorite indicator, the October jobs report. Normally that might be the big event of the week, but two Wednesday events will overshadow it. The Fed always gets huge attention even though nobody on Wall Street thinks they'll do anything this week, and Treasury's refunding announcement how much they'll borrow of what bonds this quarter. Debts are so high it could be a major market moving event. Michael McKee, Bloomberg Radio. I thank you, Mike. In Europe, shares of HSBC are down a quarter of a percent profit MYSSED estimates, but the bank did announce a fresh buyback program. We spoke with CEO Noel Quinn very pleased with the three billion dollar buyback that we've announced today. Up to three billion dollars. That takes it to seven billion for the full year. And I'm also pleased that we've announced another ten cents dividends. AHSBC chief executive Noel Quinn suggested there may be more buybacks to come. Well, Lamey, there's more labor problems at one of the big automakers. Workers at Stalantis's Canadian plants went on strike after failing to reach a new contract by a Sunday night deadline. UNI four, which represents Canadian autoworkers. As the strike involves more than eighty two hundred members, it gives the automaker a new labor headache just days after it's settled a long walkout with the United Auto Workers in the US, and again, futures are on the rise. This morning, straight ahead, we have more global headlines, plus a check of sports, and this is Bloomberg. Thank you, Karen. Time now for a look at some of the other stories making news in New York and around the world, and for that we're joined by Bloomberg's Michael Bark. Good morning, Michael, Good morning, Amy. More protests were held over the weekend across New York City, over the Middle East, crisis. Yesterday in Queens, a rally was held by the Bangladeshi community in Ozone Park. On Saturday, demonstrators in Manhattan march with Palestinian flags. Hundreds gathered for Brooklyn United for Israel rally demanding the release of hostages held by Hamas. A huge rally was also held inside Grand Central Terminal organized by the group Jewish Voice for Peace. Demonstrations were also held in Newark. An autopsy has been performed on Matthew Perry, but it could be weeks before we know what caused the star's untimely depth. Terry was found over the weekend in his hot tub at his Los Angeles home in New York City. Fans have been showing up in the rain to pay the respects at the sight of the famous Friend's apartment building in the West Village at the corner of Bedford in Grove Streets. Ely Besaides tears were coming. Ivy we were thinking about he was very funny. Matthew Perry was fifty four. A Long Island man was arrested after police say he allegedly pointed a gun at a six year old boy after the child mistakenly went to the wrong house. Michael Wynn was a rained yesterday in charge with menacing and endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities saying that the mother was driving her three kids and her nephew to a house in Manhasset when they apparently dropped off a Halloween goodie bag at the wrong address. Police say Win allegedly opened the door and pointed a gun at the boy's head. Attention is now being turned to missed warning signs in last week's massacre in Lewiston, Maine, that killed eighteen people. Police saying the suspected gunman, Robert Card, was found dead from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. Cohen, a former DHS official, sold ABC Card fits the profile of a mass shooter. This is an individual who is troubled that he was exhibiting behaviors that were noticed by family members, people he worked with, people in the military, yet he was still able to get a gun, and he was still able to fall through the cracks in the system and commit a mass shooting. Meanwhile, more than a thousand people gathered for a Sunday evening vigil to remember those killed and wounded in Lewiston. Global News twenty four hours a day and whenever you want it with Bloomberg News Now. I'm Michael Barr. This is Bloomberg Amy. All right, Thank you, Michael, and we do bring you news throughout the day here on Bloomberg Radio. But now get the latest news on demand whenever you want it. Subscribe to Bloomberg News Now to get the latest headlines at the click of a button. Get informed on your schedule. You can listen and subscribe to Bloomberg News Now on the Bloomberg Business app, Bloomberg dot Com plus apples, Spotify, and anywhere else you get your podcasts. Time now for the Sports Report, brought to you by Tri State Audi. For that, we're bringing John stash Hour. Thanks Amy. The Jets Giant game was expected to be low scoring. Both teams have a stout defense ended an anemic offense, but no one could have expected twenty four punts a collective four for thirty four on third down of the Giants to have negative nine passing yards. Despite that, the Giants towards the end were said to have a win probability of ninety nine percent. They led by three going for a field goal. Zach Wilson of the Jets had had only one good offensive play all day, but everything changed in the last twenty eight seconds of regulation. The fray. As you mentioned the Prime Minister Benjamin net Now, he tweeted in the middle of the night saying that the security forces were responsible for the lapses that allowed the October seven attack. He then had to retract that tweet and apologize against a wall of criticism inside Israel. So perhaps questions about ongoing political unity inside Israel, but outside Israel. Also, you are seeing those very significant expressions of concern coming from Europe, the US and elsewhere and also Arab nations in the region about the state of life inside Gaza for people who were there, and concerns about the humanitarian situation. So you are still seeing that way to support from the US and Europe for Israel in the aftermath of the attack, But as time goes on, that is being eroded somewhat about concerns about the level of the catastrophe inside Gaza. All right, Bloomberg's ros mathieson with the latest in Israel. Thank you so much for that, And as that war enters its second phase, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin nat Yahoo apologizing, as Rod's just explained, for that social media post in which he failed to accept responsibility for the terrorist attack on October seventh. Now earlier today, our Caroline Hacker spoke with Mark Regev, senior advisor to net Yahoo about that social media post and other aspects of the war. They talked about long term goals for security and peace, humanitarian aid for Gaza, US support. Let's go to part of that discussion. We haven't released any information yet, but what I heard last night was so far we've been doing well, and that's important for us obviously, But our goal is of course to take on Camas, to destroy its military machine and to remove it from power there on the Gaza Strip. We refuse in Israel to return to a situation where we've got this terrorist enclad on our southern border that at will will attack us, at will, will send rockets into Israel to target our cities, at will will send its killers into our country to massacre our people. We won't stand for that anymore. We will take on Kamas, we will destroy its capabilities to hurt us. What efforts are being made to negotiate the release of hostages now as the ground offensive has widened in the last couple of days, do you expect any more hostages to be released by hamas well? First of all, I don't expect Tamas to suddenly change. They're not going to become humanitarians. Yes, they are a brutal terrorist organization, and we saw vividly the sort of violence that capable of, the brutal violence that they're capable of when they attacked Israel on October seventh. So we have no illusions about Kamas we think we'll get our hostages out by ratcheting up the pressure on Hamas, the military pressure, the diplomatic pressure on its allies. We think that's the best way to get our people home. And of course, as our operation continues, and as our operation expands, the efforts to get the hostages released will continue. You are close to Benjamin Latanier, who is his advisor, of course, and you're in the room at many of the important moments and meetings. Benjamin Netanya, who over the weekend issued this very rare apology for a tweet in which he blamed Israel's security forces and intelligence of failing to anticipate the Hamas attack on the seventh of October. How much pressure is Netanyahu under now to resign. I'm not aware of any pressure for him to resign. I would say this, Yes, it's clear that we're failures on the Israeli side. They took us by surprise on October seventh. We didn't have an intelligence warning. That's clear. When they crossed our border. They butchered our people, and Israelis want to know how this happened. Now. Obviously the Prime Minister is at the top, and he has overall responsibility. But it's clear that when this is over, we're going to have to look at all the lessons learned and have a thorough investigation of what happened, where everyone in all positions of authority will be held accountable. Iran's foreign minister has been speaking to Bloomberg. He spoke to us on Friday. He said that if the United States continues what it has been doing so far, in other words, support for Israel, then quote new fronts would be opened up against the United States. How much of a concern are comments like that to you. I think it's exactly opposite, the fact that the United States has sent its two aircraft carrier groups to the Middle East, the fact that the United States has worn the Iranians. Don't use Gaza as an excuse to try to start something new. I think that's going to keep the peace. Our policy is victory in the south, and we will win victory over Kamas and the gas strip and to deter any possible offensive from Grizibella or Iran in the north. And as it's been reported, Israel has been fighting back, hitting targets when we've been attacked by Islaar and even from Syria. Last night, but we don't want a larger escalation in the north, but we are ready. The US, though, has said that Israel and its military should be taking every possible means available to them to distinguish between Harmas, should the US cause terrorists who are legitimate military targets, in their words, distinguish between Hamas and civilians who are not are not targets. Is Israel doing that. Israel has also promised significantly more humanitarian aid. What is the realistic time frame for when that happens. So we accept that we want to attack and destroy Hamas, and we want to make every maximum every effort possible to keep civilians out of the crossfire between the idea of these rather defense forces than the Kammas terrorists, and that's why we've been calling upon urging Gars and civilians to leave combat zone, specifically in the north where we know there is going to be heavy fighting. We want to get them out of Harmer's way. At the same time, it must be said that Ramas is doing everything possible to tell people not to leave, that they have to be martyrs for Ramas's crazy extremist cause, and they've actually put up roadblocks to physically prevent people from leaving areas of combat from going south. What do you say to the UN call and many other countries who are calling for a cea spar that actually, more bloodshed is not the way to bring about peace after so many other wars. What do you say to them, Well, if they can tell me another way to dismantle Cammas's military machine, I'm very glad to hear it, But at the moment, there is no other way. And those who call for a cease file in the current situation. It might sound good, and I understand why people might think, oh, that's a wonderful idea, let's stop shooting, But that basically just returns us to October seventh or sixth in the morning, where Israel has this terroced enclave on our southern border run by Kamas, which is like Isis on steroids. We saw the violence they were capable of that, We saw the brutality. We saw the rapes and the murders and burning people alive, and the massacres. We refuse. People have to understand Israel refuses to return to that situation. What is the post war plan for Gaza exactly? So we don't want to have, you know, to stay there forever, but we will. We will stay there as long as we need to destroy Kamas's military machine, and that is the goal of this operation. And so it would mean Israeli forces in Gaza for an indefinite period of time. I wouldn't put it that way, but as long as our military operations are necessary to destroy Kamas's military machine. Once again, we have no intention of staying there. We have no desire to rule the Gaza strip in any sort of That was Mark Redjeff, Senior advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin det Yahoo, speaking with our Caroline Heffger. Listen back to that entire conversation on the Bloomberg Talks podcast. Download that program wherever you get your podcasts. You're listening to Bloomberg Daybreak Today, your morning brief on the stories making news from Wall Street to Washington and beyond. Look for us on your podcast feed at six am Eastern each morning, on Apple, Spotify, and anywhere else you get your podcasts. You can also listen live each morning starting at five am Wall Street time on Bloomberg eleven three to zero in New York, Bloomberg ninety nine to one in Washington, Bloomberg one oh sixty one in Boston, and Bloomberg nine sixty in San Francisco. Our flagship New York station is also available on your Amazon Alexa devices. Just say Alexa Play Bloomberg eleven thirty plus. Listen coast to coast on the Bloomberg Business app, Sirius XM Channel one nineteen, the iHeart Radio app, and on Bloomberg dot Com. I'm Amy Morris and I'm Karen Moscow. Join us again tomorrow morning for all the news you need to start your day right here on Bloomberg Daybreak

    Is Israel Committing Genocide?

    Is Israel Committing Genocide?

Genocide. Not a word to be used lightly.

In recent months, the term has been levelled at Israel for its treatment of the war in Gaza.

The Israeli government has repeatedly denounced the accusation despite the ICJ ruling in January that it was 'plausible' that genocide could be taking place.

Over 32,000 Palestinians - mostly children - are believed to have been killed since the horrific attack on October 7th and today, a new report from the United Nations says there are 'reasonable grounds' that Israel has carried out acts of Genocide in Gaza.
