The Low-Maintenance Way to Connect with Friends and Make New Friendships | Conversation with Nick Gray

The Low-Maintenance Way to Connect with Friends and Make New Friendships | Conversation with Nick Gray

Have you ever noticed how difficult it's become to make new friends as you get older? It was just so much easier when we were kids.

"TAG. You're it. And now we're friends."

If it were only that easy. Do it now, and you might catch a case. Do this instead....

Join us on this podcast episode as we dive into the world of adult friendships and hosting parties with guest Nick Gray.

Nick is the author of The Two Hour Cocktail Party, a book that provides a step-by-step guide on hosting successful events. Nick shares his insights on developing meaningful friendships as an adult and the role hosting dinner parties, and events can play in cultivating these relationships.

    (No cocktails necessary)

We discuss how he came to write this book and how it has helped him and others build connections. Nick has years of experience hosting events and provides us with valuable tips and tricks on making them successful. From setting expectations and defining the time commitment for events to using icebreakers to get conversations flowing,  Nick has a wealth of knowledge to share with tips and tricks that make even the shy come out of their shell.

We also discuss how we both use social proof to promote his events and the importance of creating a vibe at these gatherings. No one wants to come to a party where they're the only ones there.

Whether you're an introvert or extrovert, this episode has something for everyone looking to deepen their friendships and host successful events.

Tune in now to learn from Nick Gray and improve your social skills!

Daddy Daughter Podcast - Asking My Adult Kid on How I Screwed Her Up

Daddy Daughter Podcast - Asking My Adult Kid on How I Screwed Her Up

I talk a lot about my daughters and how I raised them. I share my lessons and stories on parenting and how I tried to show up in their lives.

Some people (in youtube comments) were so enraged with my beliefs on parenting that they wondered if I was even really a dad because I seemed so clueless.

How could I have been so naive as to think it was about love, guidance, and support?

Others were certain that I was raising some pansies that would be crushed by the real world.

Now that my daughters are adults, it's time to face the harsh truth: I completely screwed up their upbringing. But hey, at least we can all laugh about it now, right?

And speaking of laughter, you simply must listen to the latest episode of my podcast, where I chat with my eldest daughter, Fe Aguirre, about how I failed as a parent.

It's a real knee-slapper, let me tell you. And the best part?

Fe has agreed to return as a regular guest, so we can all revel in my parenting failures together.

This show is about to become the best Daddy Daughter Podcast ever. Maybe.

From Layoffs to Success: A Conversation with Jon Loomer (The OG of Facebook Ads)

From Layoffs to Success: A Conversation with Jon Loomer (The OG of Facebook Ads)

I'm excited to introduce my guest in the newest episode of The Teevee Show Podcast, the OG of Facebook Advertising himself, Jon Loomer!

You’ve probably seen his face on Facebook if you’re in the ad space. He’s very good at his job.

Jon and I had a blast discussing his journey in the advertising space.

We talked about how he simplified his business, the importance of trust in marketing, and even how he uses his marketing skills to support his passion for baseball (which he's never really shared publicly before!).

We also touched on the value of lifelong learning, making sacrifices, and being present for loved ones - especially when it comes to parenting our kids.

And of course, we couldn't end the conversation without talking about Jon's amazing work as a Facebook advertiser and marketer.

We now find ourselves adjusting to the trends while trying to maintain our sanity.

It was such a cool conversation speaking to one of my biggest teachers in Facebook marketing.

“I Will Die For My Children But Don’t Ask Me to Take Care of My Health”

“I Will Die For My Children But Don’t Ask Me to Take Care of My Health”

Both of our immigrant fathers had strokes.

My father is disabled and a shell of the man he once was. Charles father died shortly after his stroke.

The motivation behind this conversation wasn't one of "happy, happy, joy, joy," but instead, it tackles an issue that plagues many men in immigrant families.

This episode is a heavy one.

I always find it fascinating to hear how many fathers will say they would die for their children, but many of those same dads struggle to live for them.

It's a deep topic, but I promise that it's not all about death talk…

We feel that these are topics that we should be able to talk about with ease. Just like we talk about sports and the weather.

“Hey Bob! Let’s go for a walk. I need to talk to you about dying and who you used to prepare your will.”

One might say we should “normalize” it. HAHA.

I swore I would never use that term in my copy. But screw it.

    It’s applicable.
