    Milking in the medieval city.

    enJuly 30, 2020

    About this Episode

Meet Jim and Doireann Mulhall as we chat amongst the cows on their robotic milking farm which is nestled right on the edge of the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny. The Mulhalls have an infectious passion for their pedigree Holstein herd. Hear about their switch to a robotic system, why they love what they do and why you should as Jim says, ''play the hand that you're dealt''. We also hear how milk gets from their cows to your bowl of cereal, just what makes the perfect cow and why Kilkenny is in fact a city rather than a town!

    If you enjoy please share.

    It's Only Rock 'n' Roll
Family farm life in Wales-on our first episode of 2024 we meet Will and Sarah Evans whilst they are over on holiday in county Cork. Hear about their family and life in general on their mixed enterprise farm. We chat about everything, from selling vegetables direct and how it was tricky to make a margin, their use of homegrown feedstuffs on their farm and we even touch on the future of tenancies in the UK and what plans they have themselves for the future. Will and Sarah also give a great and very honest insight into Will's difficulties in recent years involving his mental health, how everything came to a head and how he now copes by managing his stress better and has come out the other side.
