Mind Control: Frank Olson Trips and Falls (part 1)

This series is about the controversial scientist, psychadelic pioneer, dolphin expert and possible CIA assett, Dr. John C. Lilly.

When he was young his family was involved in a high level St. Paul Minnesota power shake up with organized crime. 

We discuss Lilly's years at CalTech, then Dartmouth, then Penn State. 

We talked about Lilly’s ethic of not performing experiments on subjects without first having performed them on oneself. We also talked about Lilly’s willingness to perform almost any kind of experiment on himself, and his desire to one day insert thousands of electrodes into his own brain.

In order to fund his brain experiments, Lilly turned to Robert Swain Morison, the director of Medical Research at the Rockefeller Fund. Morison gave grants not only to Lilly, but to Donald Hebb and Ewan Cameron over at McGill University. Morison and Cameron were doing work on isolation experiments. At Morison’s suggestion, Lilly visited McGill and began conducting experiments of his own, and created the sensory deprivation tank.

We talk about the CIA’s interest in isolation, and how they had spread their tendrils out through ARTICHOKE and MKULTRA contracting scientists to conduct isolation research throughout the US and Canada and the UK.

We discuss the sensation that occurred when Lilly’s experiments were made public, and read his apology letter to Donald Hebb, who responded back with a letter that had a cryptic line in it that seemed to imply a belief that mass brainwashing was on the horizon.

We talk about how despite an insistence throughout Lilly’s work that he tried to distance himself from what he called “the covert intelligences” Lilly’s early career was dominated by military science, and he crossed paths with many characters who were knowingly working for the CIA or other intelligence agencies. These figure include Donald Hebb, Ewan Cameron, Lawrence Kubie, Harold Wolff, Louis Jolyon West.

Furthermore Lilly conducted Mind Control research and submitted proposals for Military Intelligence that were as extreme as any we’ve read about, other than the fact that he conducted his research either solely on animals, or on himself first and then whoever would volunteer afterwards.

One of these proposals was about the creation of “Modified Human Agents” using a combination of isolation and Ewan Cameron style psychic driving along with brain implants which could covertly stimulate the motivational areas of the brain to allow for total “master-slave control of one brain over another.”

At the end podcast, we talk about how the CIA took some of their isolation studies and put it in the Kubark manual, which is a famous torture manual that is still in use today, and how isolation continues to be used as form of torture at places like Guantanamo Bay.

Our story of John C. Lilly leaves off with him heading down to Florida to study Dolphins, while his research assistant, Jay Shurley, heads off to Oklahoma where he’ll be working in the psychology department headed by Lois “Jolly” West. 

We started by checking in with the Committee for National Morale, and following up on what they ended up doing when the war started. Arthur Upham Pope commissioned the Office of Coordinator of Information, precursor to the OSS and the CIA, to perform truth drug experiments.
The Cerebral Inhibition Meeting took place, which was attended by Margaret Meade, Gregory Bateson, Harold Wolff, and included Milton Erickson talking about hypnosis. This was commissioned by Frank Fremont-Smith of the Macy Foundation. This led to the formation of what the insiders called the Man-Machine Project, and the Macy Conferences of Cybernetics.
We then talked about Gregory’s time in the OSS, and how he employed schismogenesis and black propaganda against the Japanese.
We talked about Henry Murray’s time in the OSS, and how his use of personality assessment tests led to the creation of a whole department of personality assessment in the CIA.

Next we took a look at Hypnosis experiments conducted by the OSS. We read Stanley Lovell’s account of the soldiers with the stinky feet, acting out post hypnotic suggestions. We then look at evidence that more experiments or operations with hypnosis took place, and that Milton Erickson was called in by the OSS for his expertise on the subject.
We then read parts of the chapter entitled Hypnosis in Warfare, from George Estabrooks book titled Hypnosis, which was first published in 1943. Estabrooks described the possible of creating multiple personalities in a soldier to act as an unwitting agent within enemy territory.
We then looked at the reports of John G. Watkins, who an Army Officer in WWII who used hypnosis to help cure PTSD at an army hospital in Daytona Fl, but who also experimented (or witnessed experiments) with hypnosis on soldiers in this company that involved hypnotising them give up private information and even to attempt murder.
We then examine the career of life and career of John G. Watkins, including his involvement in the Hillside Strangler Case.

Bueno: The Race is Run, Where are We

In this episode, Marshall digs out some old research he did on covert operations to destabilize Venezuela during the Obama and Trump administrations. We focus on a Boeing 767 with the tale number N881YV, that was allegedly discovered on a Venezuelan airstrip laden with guns, ammo, and other military equipment and destined for anti-Maduro Venezuelan insurgents. 

We provide some background to the situation by going into some of the history of PDVSA, the Venezuelan oil company that controls the largest oil reserves in the world and was at one point the largest corporation in South America.
PDVSA was born in 1976 when Venezuela nationalized the oil industry and took it out from under the control of corporations like  Standard Oil, Shell, and Mobil.

Luis Giusti López, a former executive of Shell Oil Company, was named president of PDVSA in 1994. He immediately set about reprivatising PDVSA through a process he called Apertura, or “opening up.” 

Giusti contracted an IT company called Science Applications International Corporation, or SAICO. This company contracted with the CIA,DIA, NSA and included high ranking American intelligence officers on it’s board of Directors. SAICO would later be accused by Chavez of being used to spy on PDVSA and Venezuela. 

After Chavez took control of PDVSA, Luis Giusti López quit or was fired, and he went to work for the Bush administration. 

Had Chavez not succeeded in his revolution, PDVSA, the largest oil reserves in the world, and Venezuela itself would be under the control of American friendly oil corporations. 

We then move on to the late 2010’s to discuss the seizure of flight N881YV. The day after it was seized, there was a blockade of an “aid shipment” to Venezuela that dominated headlines. We talk about the extremely checkered past of Elliott Abrams, US Envoy to Venezuela, and why it made sense that Venezuela would reject the aid. 

Flight N881YV belonged to a company owned by Adolpho Moreno, a mysterious figure who seems to be creating numerous “cut-out” or front companies, as does the owner of the company that chartered N881YV,  José Manuel Calvo. Through past businesses, both men were connected to CIA front companies involved in gun smuggling and extraordinary renditions. Moreno and his associate Michael Steinke, were both connected to a CIA company used for extraordinary renditions called Gemini Air Cargo. Jose Manuel Calvo had ties to a man named Nicholas Leach, who was involved in a company called Heavy Lift Air Cargo with a notorious international smuggler and CIA asset named Farhad Azima.
We take a look at the career of Farhad Azima from the Iran Contra days in the early 80’s to the late 2010’s. We talk about Azima’s connection to Wally Hilliard in the 80’s, and how Wally Hilliard went on to the own the Venice Beach aviation company that trained some of the 9-11 high jackers, while at the same owning a plane that was busted in Orlando with 43 lbs of heroin on board and a high level Venezuelan pilot at the helm. 

We then return to the Adolpho Moreno, and point out his company, Solar Air Cargo, that has a connection with a multi-billion dollar money international money laundering ring. 

We then try to tie it all together, speculating that the CIA is almost certainly behind both the gun flight and theft of billions of dollars from the PDVSA and the Venezeulan people. 

In this episode we explore a little known, yet hugely influential group of social scientists known as the Committee for National Morale. 
Founded in 1940, the goal of the Committee for National Morale (CNM) was to prepare the nation psychologically for war. They were America's answer to Nazi Germany's Ministry of Propaganda. Members of this group would play a major role in socially engineering American culture for decades to come. They will form what we call the Cybernetics Network. Many members of this group will actively become involved in the CIA's MKULTRA and ARTICHOKE projects. 
We start the episode by discussing some of the ideas in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, specifically the idea of the World Controllers, and how that relates to our discussion. 
Then we introduce the Committee for National Morale and some of it's members, most of whom are leaders in the fields of Psychology and Anthropology.  These members include Arthur Upham Pope, Gregory Bateson, Margaret Meade, Robert Yerkes, Henry Murray, Harold Abramson, and many others. We also introduce the idea of Cybernetics.
We discuss the life of Arthur Upham Pope, and how he appears to have been much more than a rug salesman, and in fact was most likely a spy or agent of some sort for John D. Rockefeller and other moneyed interests. We discuss how Pope's philanthropic art organisation was a conduit for sending OSS and CIA officers to Iran. 
We then discuss Margaret Meade and Gregory Bateson, there interesting trip to Bali to document the trance states of Balinese ritual dancers. We consider the possibility that the trip was covertly funded by the military through the Scottish Right North Masonic Jurisdiction, which was run by a Marine Colonel and weapons inventor and manufacturer named Melvin Maynard Johnson. 
We then read some of Arthur Upham Pope's thoughts on the importance of 'morale'. 
Next we discuss how the Committee for National Morale directed Counter Insurgency Operations to prevent social unrest that could damage the War effort, and how their tacts continued after the War ended. 
We question whether an institution that engineers people to be more "democratic" can actually be democratic and whether democracy was the real goal. 
We then discuss some of the research done by a Stanford Professor Fred Turner, who argues that the Committee For National Morale played a huge role in creating what would become the Counter Culture of the 1960's. 

We start are long dive into mind control topics in the 1930's. We take a look at the crimes of Svigvard Thurneman and The Sala Gang. Thurneman was an occult practitioner who used hypnosis and drugs in his ceremonies. He recruited upstanding citizens into his secret society, and soon they embarked on a 6 year crime spee of murder, arson, and theft. Did Svigbard use occult techniques to control the minds of his followers?
We then skip over to the United States. The Great Depression is underway, and Civilian Conservation Corps are created to give young jobless men a chance to make an honest living and to build up America's infrastructure. But there is also a dark side to these camps - CCC "volunteers" were required to participate in medical and psychological experiments. 
Lurking among these camps was psychologist and hypnotist  Dr. George Estabrooks, a notorious name in mind control research. We read through FBI accounts of their experiments and interviews with Dr. Estabrooks and other experts in drugs and hypnosis, including the chillingly effective and possibly "demented" hypnotist Milton Erickson. 

In this episode we discuss a likely "limited hangout" operation involving the revelation of MKULTRA and other CIA experiments. H.P. Albarelli identified this as "Operation Dormouse." We then take a look at Stephen Kinzer and his book Poisoner in Chief, and we discuss how the book furthers the aims of this decades old limited hangout. We take a look at Stephen Kinzer's background, including his time in Central America during the 80's as a Bureau Chief for the New York Times. We highlight Noam Chomsky's criticism of Kinzer's reportage, particularly in covering up death squad activity. 

In this episode we continue our discussion on the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. We start by discussing how the "Lab Leak theory" has gained in popularity to the extent where most Americans now believe that the Sars-Cov-2 virus escaped or was released from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. 

We discuss the origins of the Lab Leak Hypothesis and show how the first American outlets to report on the lab leak hypothesis were the CIA connected propaganda outlet Radio Free Asia, followed shortly after by CIA connected author Bill Geerts in the Washington Post, who quoted an eerily timed State Department document on adherance to international weapons convention that accused China of engaging in research that "could potentially be dual use." Geerts also quoted Israeli intelligence officer Daniel Shoham, who once loudly proclaimed that the Anthrax from Americans Anthrax attacks came from Iraq. (Which was completely incorrect, the Anthrax came from our American's own bioweapons establishment.)
We discuss how Trump espoused the Lab Leak hypothesis, but quickly dropped it in favor of messaging about how the pandemic was not too serious and well under control, which it wasn't. 
We then find out that investigations into the origins of the virus by Trump administration officials were allegedly stifled by what was described as a "massive gain of function bureaucracy."
We then discuss how the Lab Leak Theory was adopted by democrats, first and foremost Jamie Metzl of the Atlantic Council. We then go on to discuss DNI Avril Haines' pronouncement that the intelligence community found the lab leak theory plausible. We go into Haines' background and what we view as a suspicious pivot into fields of biosafety and biosecurity, realms in which she had no previous experience that we know of. We then discuss her work for the NTI, including a very interestingly timed meeting in Geneva on biosafety, and an even more interestingly timed meeting in New York called Event 201. The same day that event 201 occurred, October 18th, 2019, the World Military Games started in Wuhan, China, and we discuss that. We then discuss the potentially suspicious closure of Fort Detrick in August of 2019, and other strange occurrences around Wuhan. We close by discussing the latest release on the origins of Covid by the ODNI. 

In this episode we begin what is sure to be a long and vertiginous dive into the topic of the COVID-19 pandemic. We start with a discussion of the one of the most outspoken advocates of the Zoonotic Spillover Theory, one Peter Daszak, and the NGO of which he is president, EcoHealth Alliance. We show how in the very early days of the pandemic, Daszak attempted to control the narrative around the origins of COVID-19, claiming before any real investigation had begun that the pandemic was the result of a natural spillover and any other possibilities are "conspiracy theories." We discuss how Daszak attempted to hide his authorship of a critical article, and how his appointment to be on the WHO team of investigators into the origin of the COVID-19 was controversial to many. We show that Daszak has for years been working closely on gain of function research with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the very lab his team was supposed to investigate, and how this appears to be a conflict of interest. We then show that EcoHealth Alliance is actually funded almost entirely by the U.S. State Department and Pentagon. We go on to show that the Pentagon and in particular DARPA have shown an acute interest in bat borne coronaviruses in the years leading up to the pandemic. We then take a look at Dr. David Franz, former commander of the most notorious bioweapons laboratory in the world, Ft. Detrick, who now sits on the advisory board of EcoHealth Alliance, and his claim that "in biology everything is dual use -- the people, the facilities, and the equipment." We go into a brief discussion on the Anthrax attacks of 2001, and that event's relevance to our present situation. 

A lot of Donald Trump's supporters, most notably the Q Anon movement, claim that he is at war with "The Deep State." We however, have found the exact opposite to be true. 
In the first part of this Episode, we discuss the origins of the Trump real estate empire beginning with Fredrick Trump's brothels at the end of the 1800's. We then discuss Trump's father Fred Chris Trump's involvement with the Klu Klux Klan, and the birth of Donald Trump and his siblings. We then discuss the early career of Trump's mentor, the notorious lawyer Roy Cohn. We talk about the Red Scare and the Lavender Scare, and the sexual blackmail operations Cohn ran involving FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover in the  50's. Those operations continued into the 60's and lead into the Profumo Affair that rocked England in the early 60's and similar attempts at ensaring the Kennedy Brothers. We end with a discussion of how Roy Cohn and Donald Trump met, and another racist episode in Trumps history.
