5 Stage of Grief for Nerds

5 Stage of Grief for Nerds

It has been hard times for nerds everywhere, and the Gents of the EstoBro TV Podcast have felt the major impact of what has given them the 5 Stages of Grief. To dismantle the denial of misogynist sports fans and gamers, they first address the major news that MLB The Show 24 has spotlighted their 'Road to the Show' game mode has now enabled women to be featured for the player's POV (1:50). With history always being written in baseball, the Gents hype the anticipation of the gender barrier being broken at some point in celebrating Women's Awareness Month. The stages of grief continue with EstoBro's anger at the latest Pokémon Presents (15:00), in which he is clearly showing his bias and age that the franchise is truly going in the direction he does not care for. In bargaining, the Gents debate the fact Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a more anticipated throwback experience in gaming compared to the latest installment of Final Fantasy XVI (27:00). The Gents set into depression with the announcement of the passing of Akira Toriyama (33:05), one of the most influential artists from Japan. Toriyama is best known as the creator of Dragon Ball and a developer of Chrono Trigger, two fantastic pieces of fiction that are still celebrated today. The world mourned his passing, and EstoBro and TV held their remembrance during this segment of the podcast. Finally, in acceptance, the Gents highlight the major wins of the 96th Academy Awards (47:25) with the biggest highlight for nerds being that Godzilla Minus 1 won the Oscar for Visual Effects. Dune: the Last Sand Bender

    Dune: the Last Sand Bender

The Gents usher in the first podcast of March reflecting on their journey so far, how their annual episode with the 4Nerds1Podcast gave EstoBro and TV the vision to start their very own podcast (1:30), as the titular host echoes even further why they started a podcast and relays to their listening audience how to get one started. Make sure a podcast has a certain dynamic about touching certain subjects and keeping the audience engaged with exploring the substance of the subjects, including this week's episode focusing on multimedia entertainment. The Gent first discusses their review of the Netflix adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender which debuted in the middle of February (16:30). Despite mixed reviews from the general audience of the cult classic cartoon coming to life, the Gents give the new series its flowers after recovering from the live-action film by M. Night Shyamalan. They do turn their attention to recent films that have been popular lately (34:20), with the Gents returning to the segment of 'The Good, Bad, and Ugly' focusing on Bob Marley: One Love, Madame Web, and Dune 2 all in the spotlight recently. EstoBro does bring attention to EDC Las Vegas revealing their lineup (53:30) as music festival season looks to kick off this summer. TV also enables great ideas for the pair to expand the podcast even further by tapping into their nerd guilty pleasures and taking advantage of popular trends in social media (60:00). All engaging topics for listeners to enjoy when discussing media in another edition of the EstoBro TV Podcast.

Video Game Jammin; EstoLegend talks One Love

Video Game Jammin; EstoLegend talks One Love

EstoBro reflects on the hattrick of holidays that took place last Wednesday (1:00), as he shares that he is committing to Lent thanks to his Irish roots. TV cannot contain his excitement that EstoLegend has made his debut on the podcast. EstoBro's father was the winner of the podcast's official fantasy football league, so he finally recorded his segment on this episode focused on the Bob Marley biopic One Love. Before the featured interview, the Gents break the news on video games, with TV sharing the return of Overwatch 2 making a triumph of a comeback (13:15). EstoBro shares the current event of Disney and Epic Games partnership (30:10), and the possibility of a fantastic Disney game or the characters being ported to Fortnite. Video game news wraps up the Gents breaking down the success of Tekken 8 kicking off 2024 with a bang in terms of fighting games (40:00); could this be the title that takes home the category for 'Best Fighter' at the GotYs?

The debut of EstoLegend on the podcast shares the reaction after watching Bob Marley: One Love (47:30), and EstoBro engages his father about becoming a fantasy football champion and his own personal sports takes (67:55).

Featured track on the podcast: "Trenchtown Rock" written by Bob Marley, performed by Bob Marley and the Wailers, African Herbsman, 1970. Recorded and distributed by Island Record

The Swifties Win the Super Bowl

The Swifties Win the Super Bowl

EstoBro is pretty heated, but it is not because of the Super Bowl results. He is more upset that he missed the opportunity to catch a Savanna Bananas baseball game while they were touring in Tampa (1:15), and they even had WWE Superstar John Cena in the starting lineup as the guest player. The unexpected Cena citing has the Gents discussing the dramatics the WWE has featured on the road to WrestleMania during the cold open. In clarity that this is the sports-themed episode in this week's podcast, the Gents don't hesitate to discuss the aftermath of Super Bowl XLIII (18:30) with the  Kansas City Chiefs defeating the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Sunday. They discuss a very tame football game with the casual Taylor Swift appearances, the halftime show featuring Usher, and how the Nickelodeon broadcast of the game was superior. TV catches the listening audience up with what happened at the trade deadline for the NBA (36:45), and where teams are in current standing before they head into the All-Star break for the regular season. EstoBro is thrilled that football season is over because that means baseball is right around the corner, and he gives a small sneak peek of what to expect this season with the PECOTA projected standings heading into spring training (50:35). The Gents had to get the sports episode out for February and made sure to deliver it after the big game!

    Spring came Early?

    Spring came Early?

Punxsutawney Phil be damned that spring will be coming early because the Gents feel the wrath of winter creeping into February. They also find it funny that degenerate gamblers would bet if the groundhog would see his shadow or not (1:00), as they both agree that gambling is a more engaging event even outside the realms of sports. EstoBro carries this on even further by stating that he will take gambling odd with the Academy Awards this year (15:55), as the Gents review the nominations and what films were snubbed for this upcoming ceremony. In other film news, the Mean Girls remake ruled the month of January at the box office and the Gents are hesitant to give the film its flowers. The point of the episode shifts to music news with the lineup reveal of Bonnaroo and why Coachella is having a hard time selling tickets (37:00); as the Gents also review the 66th Grammy Awards that took place on Sunday night. Finally, in other social media news, adult star Lisa Ann was arrested and detained while attending a comedy show in New York City (54:20), and the Gents have their take on porn stars who act dramatically in the spotlight. A multimedia and arts special episode of the EstoBro TV Podcast!

    Royal Rumble at the Trop

    Royal Rumble at the Trop

We have reached the pinnacle of the 2023 football season, we finally have the two teams who will play each other at Super Bowl LVIII (1:00) with the reigning champs the Kansas City Chiefs versus against the San Francisco 49ers. The Gents kick off the show by breaking down the controversy that surrounds the matchup...and they promise that it has nothing to do with Taylor Swift.  EstoBro attended the Royal Rumble at Tropicana Field over the weekend with Commissioner Comic Book and Magikarp, and he had to give his review on the current status of the WWE (21:15). The podcast is in full random mode when the Gents mention the standup comedian Shane Gillis and how he has taken the spotlight lately. They also bring up how the comedian sheds light on reality television (38:45) and what the Gents are watching lately. TV wraps the show with a classic segment of 'Who has the munchies?' when he educates EstoBro on how to make a New York-style chopped cheese (51:20), while the latter flexes his new cookbook flex that is Sanji's Cook Book from One Piece. A full-hour riff that the Gents kicked back for this week's episode of the EstoBro TV Podcast.

    Gotta Shoot 'Em All: Palworld

    Gotta Shoot 'Em All: Palworld

The Gents reveal the new way they want to address nerd culture as a whole. Instead of doing separate dedicated episodes for video games and manga/anime, they are addressing both of these topics for news with other factions of nerd culture which includes the trading cart community, comics, and technology. EstoBro and TV would kick the show off with their hypothetical eSports teams if they were ever part of one (3:30). They follow this up by giving praise to the hottest game that started in 2024 with Palworld (17:30), a Pokémon-like video game that has broken downloading records on the platforms that are available for gamers. The Gents address the elephant on the Internet on how much controversy this has insinuated with the Pokémon community but praise it further with how much homage it gives to other popular video game titles. With technology as the new featured topic for these curated episodes, EstoBro sheds light on the CES Expo that took place in Las Vegas earlier this month (38:20). He also highlights the reveal of the slimmer version of PlayStation 5 as TV chimes in with other gaming tech that needs to be praised. EstoBro celebrated Mandy Hatake's birthday at Disney World last weekend and was wondering why the theme park does not show love to their third-party franchises (51:55), as he introduces the listening audience to the hottest new card game Lorcana which is dedicated to the Disney universe. While it is brand new to the trading card community, it is slowly but surely gaining momentum in popularity after being revealed last year. Finally, TV is hyped for Eiichero Oda's Monster's debut on Netflix (66:00), which is a story that is a prequel to the One Piece story that centers around Roronoa Zoro's ancestors. This new way of bringing nerd news to their listening audience is what the Gents are happy to broadcast for these dedicated episodes, and hope they reach even new audience members to listen and subscribe to the EstoBro TV Podcast.

Yo Ho and a Bottle of Mayfield

Yo Ho and a Bottle of Mayfield

The Gents are ready to report on the first sports episode of the year by first doing a recap of the podcast fantasy football league (1:45), with EstoLegend lifting the title for the first time ever. Before getting into everything with NFL playoffs, the Gents give their respect to legendary coach Nick Saban (12:55) after announcing his retirement with the highlighting of the Michigan Wolverines winning their first CFP title; despite the controversy surrounding the team this college season. EstoBro eats his humbleberry pie when it comes to doubting Baker Mayfield when he became the Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback, and TV joins him as they sing his praises for advancing the team to the next round of the playoffs (32:30). The Gent also reviews the good, the bad, and the ugly of the rest of the games around the NFL and makes their best prediction of who will be playing in Super Bowl LVIII. TV also gives the listeners an update on the NBA season before the trade deadline is met (59:50), and EstoBro chimes in with his impressions so far.

The joke reference and song credit at the end of the episode is "6am (Ready to Write)" by Beardyman in tribute to EstoBro's hero, Hunter S. Thompson

    New Mic, Who's This?

    New Mic, Who's This?

The Gents are back on the podwaves to ring in the first episode of 2024. EstoBro flexes a new microphone courtesy of iamRavedad (1:00) while busting TV's chops about his seasonal technical difficulties. After giving their regards to their listening audience for hanging tight for the holiday season, they also announce how they will condense the podcast format for the new year, with the first episode having focus on multimedia and entertainment. EstoBro kicks it off by roasting the DCCU's final installment of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom before the James Gunn era takes off (16:30). TV holding the same opinion expresses the exhaustion of the comic book movie trend altogether; will Warner Bros. Studio ever match the same level of Disney's MCU? They will still be playing catchup, especially with Disney+ releasing the second season of What If...? over the holiday season (29:45), and how it was well-received and threw the MCU a lifeline. Disney however did take a massive loss with their signature cartoon "Steamboat Willie" entering the public domain at the start of 2024 (52:00), which unleashed the dark side of the cartoon all over the internet. Music was a huge part of the EstoBro TV Podcast last year, which is why it is the final segment of the episode (60:30). EstoBro announces the latest music festival news with Electric Forrest revealing their lineup, but the average attendee had a lukewarm response to this summer festival. The Gents are happy to be back, and cannot wait to share new episode of the EstoBro TV Podcast!
