On this season finale of the Score Keepers, we’ll be speaking with jazz  and big band composer Olivia Murphy. Olivia is a British composer  focusing on a fusion of through-written and improvisational composition.  She is the leader and founder of the Olivia Murphy Jazz Orchestra – a  19-piece big band performing in London and Birmingham. The orchestra won  the Peter Whittingham Development Award in 2022 which funded a live  recorded EP. Olivia has won numerous awards including the Jazzlife  Alliance Young Composer Award, among others.

On this episode of the Score Keepers, we welcome composer Charles Peck. Charles is a distinguished composer celebrated for his daring and vibrant musical creations. His work has been performed by renowned ensembles like the Minnesota Orchestra and the JACK Quartet. Charles has received prestigious fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and his compositions have graced esteemed venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Aspen Music Festival. Micah is a Conducting Fellow at the Curtis Institute of Music  and has been recognized for her diverse performance abilities as a  conductor, vocal soloist, and chamber musician. Micah has conducted  notable ensembles including The Orchestra Now, the Curtis Symphony  Orchestra, and the Eastern Festival Orchestra; served as the assistant  conductor of opera productions for Opera Philadelphia, the Bard Graduate  Vocal Arts Program, Curtis Opera Theater, and The Glimmerglass  Festival.
