News & Reviews: Mean Girls
I don't even know what to say about this one, I guess Andy is cool and funny and I'm just an old stick in the mud.
This week Alex is joined by semi regular guest Paul to bring reviews of some of the special programming from the recently wrapped up 65th BFI London Film Festival. Between satellite screenings around the country and at home screenings on BFI Player, this year had a packed schedule with plenty for everyone. We take time to review six of this year's offerings ahead of their upcoming releases.
Julia Ducournau's French thriller 'Titane' is the Palme d'Or winning follow up to 'Raw' and has been the subject of much discussion and hype since it's premiere there. Kristen Stewart stars as an imagined version of Princess Diana during a pivotal Christmas with the in-laws in 'Spencer', Edgar Wright's much anticipated time warping thriller 'Last Night in Soho' stars Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy, 'Flee' is a much talked about animated documentary detailing the journey of a young gay refugee from Afghanistan, Jeymes Samuel opened the festival with his stylish western 'The Harder They Fall' which stars Jonathan Majors and Idris Elba, finally Lee Haven Jones' strange Welsh language horror 'The Feast' features a dinner party unlike any other.

Welcome to the thrilling conclusion of Feb-weather-uary, where we discuss the 1996 blockbuster 'Twister' in anticipation of the upcoming legacy sequel 'Twisters', we discuss what we like and what we don't like about the original as well as proposing what could possibly happen in the sequel and whether it's going to be a redo of Top Gun Maverick with no Tom Cruise.
Watch out for that cow guys!
We return to review action this week and finally the armistice has been broken (and perhaps then been renewed confusingly.

It's a bumper edition of News & Reviews with Even More Alex (TM), we bring you an almighty 8 reviews this week with Alex responsible for 7 of them solo. Andy's on his armistice (more on that in episode) and therefore the balance is shifted to mostly Alex with reviews of... ghost story romance 'All Of Us Strangers', powerful drama 'The Zone of Interest', Oscar hopeful 'The Holdovers', satire 'American Fiction', science fiction black comedy 'Poor Things', 'Samsara' a meditation on life, death and new life, deadpan supernatural comedy 'The Civil Dead' & the DCEU's unflushable shit 'Aquaman 2'
Coming a week later than originally planned and in a much truncated format, it's the annual Dinosaur Man awards for the films of 2023!
We dish out an apology and then summarise why we didn't release this episode on time. Andy and Alex spend a little while talking about which films went home with our big prizes when we got together with Paul last weekend.
As is now tradition, we return to action with an early episode for this year being the annual Dinosaur Man Draft! We find out how well our picks from last year performed before selecting our choices for the forthcoming year. This episode has it all, indefinite delays, Madame Web blind faith, a discussion of which animated fourquel will perform best and much much more!
Join in with the fun and select your choices for the upcoming critical and or commercial successes in this new year of movie making!
Alex is sick so its the perfect time for Andy to hand out his awards for games he has played this year. Are they games that came out in 2023? Mostly no. But did Andy play them in 2023? Yes.
So come see if you agree with the winners of such awards as "The Game I'm Definitely Coming Back To This Year"
Let us know on Twitter/X what wins your game of the year @DinosaurMan15
