Packers Weekly #32: Most Polarizing Day EVER in Packers Free Agency?

Gute woke up on March 11, 2024 and chose violence. We shouldn't be surprised by anything at this point. One thing you cannot argue with, Gute is not afraid to make any move. Like it or not, he's usually right when he makes these difficult decisions.

While two all-time greats exit Lambeau, the Packers just added two young playmaking leaders on the offense and defense - Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney.

While Jacobs was a pretty big surprise, most Packers fans had their eye on McKinney, and in a rare occurrence actually got the free agent they wanted! Both players are seemingly entering their primes, and playing at the highest level of their respective positions.

Saying goodbye to Aaron Jones and David Bakhtiari was never going to be easy or enjoyable. However, the Packers probably have the best young nucleus of any team in the NFL right now, and they still have 11 draft picks to add even more talent to this young roster.

Strap in, Packers fans. This is a new era of Packers football, and it's looking like it's going to be a lot of fun.

Packers Weekly #31: NFL Scouting Combine REVIEW - Future Packers

Packers Weekly #31: NFL Scouting Combine REVIEW - Future Packers

No doubt one of the stars of the show this year was Xavier Worthy, breaking the record for the fastest 40-yard time. Worthy was one of two WRs that met with the Packers at the Combine. The other was his Longhorn teammate Adonai Mitchell. Combine meetings don't necessarily mean a whole lot, but it's not nothing.

We'll go through a list of guys that got our attention at the Combine, and who we think the Packers actually might be more interested in.

We aren't going to bore you with endless mock draft simulations and meaningless predictions. We're going position-by-position to highlight who we think is on the Packers radar. Join us next week for the breakdown of RBs and LBs.

Chris Lempesis is back with part four, the final installment, of his series examining the season that was for the Green Bay Packers, and also taking a look at the offseason that lies ahead. In this edition, he takes a look at the back end of Green Bay's defense, the corners and safeties, and the special teams, as well. Who are some players the Packers could be looking to add to the secondary, either via free agency or the draft? Which special teamer is most on the hot seat heading into next season? He answers those questions and much more in this episode.

Packers Weekly #30: NFL Scouting Combine PREVIEW

Packers Weekly #30: NFL Scouting Combine PREVIEW

If you can win a press conference, Hafley won his first press conference as the Packers DC. There was a lot of emphasis on players being able to react and play without thinking too much. It will be very interesting to see which positions they prioritize in the draft to fill out the skillsets Haffley is looking for but may not have on the roster yet. Might we see a similar draft strategy to what Ted did in the 2009 draft?

This week at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis there is a lot to be gained, and maybe not as much for some. Will much be changed about how the top prospects are viewed? Probably not. Will some lesser known guys start to make some noise? Absolutely. We've got some small ball guys to watch out for, and who stands to gain the most from a strong performance this week.

Join us next week to dive into the top performers from the Combine!

LempsTalkinPack #162: Looking Back, Looking Ahead: DL/LBs

Chris Lempesis is back with part three of his four-part series examining the season that was for the Green Bay Packers, and also taking a look at the offseason that lies ahead. In this edition, he moves over to the defensive side of the ball to examine the play of Green Bay's front seven. With the Packers likely shifting to a 4-3 scheme, what will the new-look defensive line look like? And who will be playing what spot at linebacker? He answers those questions and more in this episode.

Packers Weekly #29: Digging Into the Trenches of the 2024 NFL Draft

Packers Weekly #29: Digging Into the Trenches of the 2024 NFL Draft

The final (critical) piece to the 2024 Packers coaching staff has been added. Introducing new Strength and Conditioning Coach, Aaron Hill. Formerly Assistant S&C coach for the 49ers, Hill takes on the responsibility of keeping the hamstrings strong in Green Bay. He's been part of the team that has kept CMC healthy/strong after his string of injury issues with the Panthers. A player familiar to Packers fans, Kurt Benkert, has nothing but good things to say about Hill after his time in San Francisco. Hopefully he can step in to improve the soft tissue injuries.

We're diving back into the Edge Rushers and Offensive Tackles in this episode. Focusing specifically more on day-2 guys that have characteristics the Packers historically have preferred.

While it's fun to dream about our favorite players wearing the green and gold, some of them simply aren't "Gutey guys".

Tune in next week for a Scouting Combine preview! We're looking at who could potentially make or break their draft position with their Combine performance.

LempsTalkinPack #161:Looking Back, Looking Ahead: WRs/TEs/OL

Chris Lempesis is back with part two of his four-part series examining the season that was for the Green Bay Packers, and also taking a look at the offseason that lies ahead. In this edition, he examines the play of Green Bay's wide receivers, tight ends and offensive line. Should the Packers add another receiver in the draft? Just how good can their tight end group be? What will Green Bay do with David Bakhtiari? Those are just a few of the questions he answers in this episode.
