On January 12, 1991, the US Congress permitted then-President George HW Bush to start an active military campaign in the Middle East, the ripple effects of which would be felt for decades. What was that momentous occasion, and what are the long-term historical impacts of the day and the decision made on that day? How do the two sides view this ongoing humanitarian crisis that has claimed over 2000 innocent lives and displaced more than tens of thousands people? As responsible academics, we made the conscious choice to provide our listeners with both sides to the story, without our biases at play. Our podcasts were recorded in the past week, so the events as they are unfolding may not be up to date, but the ethos with which we recorded these episodes still remains the same. 

In the second episode, Dr. White is joined by Dr. Amine Oudghiri-Otmani, Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Marshall University. Originally from Morocco, today he gives us a perspective from the Arab World on the current war in Israel and Gaza.
