Overseer - Psalm 94

Jesus promised he would send the Holy Spirit after he left. The time for the crucifixion was soon, and Jesus continued to teach his friends about what was to come. He knew he would return after death to teach some more but then he would ascend to heaven and the Holy Spirit would be sent to do some incredible things among his people. We will look at Memo on the New Life on Sunday.

Dying seems like a strange way to live. Why does Jesus say his people should die to live? In this Memo from the Messiah, we will investigate Living to Die.

Jesus, the Son of God, came from heaven to earth to reveal the Kingdom of God, make way for those who believe in him access to the Father, and provide instructions for life. He has much to say, and fortunately for us, notes were made and books written. Join us on Sunday for Memos from the Messiah.

There are times when we must adjust how we engage in certain meetings. So, how will you respond when meeting Jesus? You will meet him one day, but what if, in this lifetime, you have an opportunity to meet him? How will you act? What will you do? Just being prepared is a good idea, and that is the reason for Expectation on Sunday.

Jesus told his friends he would be with them until the end of the age. He would not abandon them. When Jesus left earth for heaven, his friends were told by the angels that Jesus would return from heaven in the same way, referring to his coming at the end of days. So, will Jesus be with them, or is he staying in heaven until the end of days? Let's look into this on Sunday in Jesus the Promise Keeper.

Death is difficult; it is the end of one thing and the beginning of another. But what sort of thing is it? What is beyond the veil? Theories and tales abound but maybe some clarity could be gained by getting information from someone who knows heaven and earth. Jesus said he would reveal himself and that he would not forsake his people. He manifested himself dramatically after the resurrection. He is still. There are many ways he communicates and as his followers, it is to our advantage to know how to interpret divine manifestations. Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to many including 500 at one time. The resurrected Jesus appeared to Paul and later to John and for many Christians today that was it. Jesus made the rounds, went to heaven, and operated remotely through agents on Earth. He is coming back to take over and set up a new heaven and new earth but that is not yet. Contrary to the idea Jesus is showing up is the evidence that he is. He said he would and he does. So how are we to handle the Manifestations of the Messiah? On Sunday we begin the new series with "I Will Reveal Myself." The Lord is not limited, nor is he in hiding, he is active and involved.

The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. What a concept! Spoken or written word? John says the Word was in the beginning. There must be more to this. We will conclude our Mysteries of the Messiah series with Mysteries of the Word.
