Piers Morgan Uncensored: Baldwin charged in Rust shooting

    enJanuary 19, 2023

    Podcast Summary

    • Juxtaposing Accountability and Arrogance: Mint Mobile and Alec BaldwinMint Mobile's price drop contrasts with Alec Baldwin's self-centered response to charges, highlighting accountability and responsibility versus arrogance in business and personal life.

Mint Mobile, represented by Ryan Reynolds, goes against industry trends by lowering prices instead of raising them, while Alec Baldwin faces involuntary manslaughter charges for an on-set shooting incident. The contrasting approaches highlight the importance of accountability and responsibility versus self-pity and denial. Meanwhile, PlushCare offers online access to board-certified physicians for weight loss plans and medication prescriptions. Alec Baldwin's self-centered response to the tragic shooting incident raises questions about personal accountability and the consequences of arrogance. The legal proceedings against him mark a significant moment in Hollywood history.

    • A tragic accident on movie set and Alec Baldwin's roleThe Alec Baldwin shooting incident underscores the importance of safety and following procedures on film sets. Producers, including Baldwin, hold significant responsibility to ensure weapons used are safe.

The tragic accident on the movie set involving Alec Baldwin should serve as a reminder for everyone to prioritize safety and follow proper procedures. Despite Baldwin's shocking response, it's essential to acknowledge that this was an accident and not a deliberate act. The use of live ammunition on film sets is unheard of, and actors are usually entitled to assume that weapons used are safe. Baldwin's role as a producer adds another layer of responsibility to the situation. The legal reality is that Baldwin can only be found guilty if there is criminal culpability, and an accident does not meet that criteria. Emotions may run high, but it's crucial to approach the situation with a clear and objective perspective. The focus should be on learning from the accident and ensuring it never happens again.

    • Santa Fe prosecutor's strong words and gun ownership prevalence may lead to a tough jury verdict against Alec BaldwinThe investigation report suggests a thorough investigation, and the charges against Baldwin and Reed do not involve malice or bad intent, but their reliance on assurances of gun safety and the armorer's inexperience could lead to a criminal negligence verdict.

The Santa Fe prosecutor's strong words during the trial, the prevalence of gun ownership in Santa Fe, and the lack of personal gun check by Alec Baldwin, the coproducer, could lead to a tough jury verdict against him for alleged negligence in the fatal shooting incident on the set. The key question is whether Baldwin's reliance on someone else's assurance that the gun was safe amounts to criminal negligence. Additionally, the inexperience of the armorer charged alongside Baldwin might strengthen the prosecution's argument. The investigation report, which is over 500 pages long, indicates a thorough investigation, and the charges against Baldwin and Reed do not involve malice or bad intent.

    • Alec Baldwin's Charges for Fatal Shooting on Rust SetAlec Baldwin faces involuntary manslaughter charges for his role in the fatal shooting on the Rust set. The legal process will consider his actions as an actor and coproducer, along with wider set negligence.

Alec Baldwin's actions on the set of Rust, leading to the death of a cinematographer, are being charged as involuntary manslaughter. The legal process will determine if Baldwin's negligence and potential recklessness contributed to the tragic event. The distinction between movie procedures and the law adds complexity to the situation. Baldwin's legal team may face concerns as the district attorney has publicly stated reasons for the charges, which extend beyond Baldwin's actions as an actor. Furthermore, the wider negligence on the set and Baldwin's role as a coproducer may also be considered.

    • Miscommunication and deviation from protocols led to fatal shooting on Rust setProper communication and adherence to protocols are crucial for preventing accidents on film sets, including handling firearms.

The tragic shooting on the set of "Rust" was due to a breakdown in protocols and communication regarding the handling of firearms. Alec Baldwin, as both a producer and actor, may have attempted to distance himself from responsibilities, but accountability is necessary for determining what led to the fatal accident. The standard procedure on film sets involves a prop master overseeing firearms, ensuring they are "cold" before being handed to the 1st assistant director and then to the actor. However, there seems to have been a miscommunication or deviation from this chain of command. It's also important to note that during rehearsals, guns should not be present at all. The use of live ammunition or hot guns is unacceptable on film sets. The lack of admission of fault from Baldwin and potential self-defeating PR efforts may have further complicated the situation.

    • Alec Baldwin's statements and actions could harm his defenseBaldwin's claims, behavior, and past actions may contradict forensic evidence and damage his reputation, potentially affecting the outcome of the trial and his insurability.

Alec Baldwin's statements regarding the Rust film set shooting incident may have been detrimental to his defense. His claims that he didn't pull the trigger could be contradictory to forensic evidence, and his behavior since the accident, including his self-pitying interviews and alleged disregard for safety protocols and advice, could be used against him in the trial. The background of labor disputes and safety concerns on the set could also be significant factors. Overall, Baldwin's actions and words may have damaged his reputation and potentially his insurability, and his history of not listening to advice could be a recurring theme in the trial.

    • Rust movie set tragedy: Prioritizing safety over costThe Rust movie set tragedy underscores the importance of prioritizing safety over cost in film production, as the inexperienced armorer and presence of live ammunition led to a fatal shooting.

The set of the Rust movie was not prioritizing safety, leading to the tragic death of Halyna Hutchins. Alec Baldwin, the star of the film, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, but the DA emphasized that his arrogance and condescension were not the basis for the charge. Instead, Baldwin is accused of pointing a gun at someone and pulling the trigger, resulting in Hutchins' death. The set was reportedly in disarray, with live ammunition present and workers expressing concerns about safety. The armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, was inexperienced and admitted she should not have been in the role, but the production apparently prioritized saving money over safety. The jury in Santa Fe, where the trial will take place, is expected to be familiar with guns and may consider the use of the gun in the sentencing. The incident highlights the importance of prioritizing safety on film sets above all else.

    • Efficient and cost-effective solutions for consumers and businessesQuince provides ethical manufacturing and affordable luxury, while Stamps.com streamlines business operations with discounted shipping rates and seamless integrations.

Both Quince and Stamps.com offer efficient and cost-effective solutions for consumers and businesses, respectively. Quince ensures ethical and responsible manufacturing while maintaining affordability, making luxury items accessible. Stamps.com streamlines business operations by offering discounted shipping rates and seamless integration with various marketplaces and shopping carts. Meanwhile, comedian Konstantin Kisin's viral speech emphasizes the importance of hard work, creation, and innovation in addressing global issues, such as climate change, rather than relying on protesting and complaining. These messages convey the significance of making informed decisions, staying open-minded, and striving for progress.

    • Fear of expressing opinions and cancel cultureThe fear of expressing opinions and the threat of being canceled or shamed is a significant issue, especially in the western world. The solution is to be reasonable, persuade others, and stand up against cancellations. Corporations and TV producers need to take a stand, and the future is 'post-woke' where we focus on working together.

We're living in a time where people are easily influenced and manipulated through social media, leading to mob mentality and cancel culture. This fear of expressing opinions and the threat of being canceled or shamed has become a significant issue, especially in the western world. The speaker, who grew up in the Soviet Union, draws parallels between this and the past, highlighting how technology and tribalism fuel this behavior. The solution, as the speaker suggests, is to be reasonable, persuade others, and stand up against cancellations. Corporations and TV producers also need to take a stand. The future, according to the speaker, is "post-woke," where we move past this polarizing period and focus on working together. The term "woke" has been hijacked by extremists and has become toxic. It's crucial to change the way we have political conversations to avoid further polarization and danger.

    • The impact of tribalism, toxicity, and hyper-partisanship on politicsComedians try to understand the root causes of hypersensitivity and censorship, but the biggest challenge remains holding politicians accountable for their lies.

The current political climate is heavily influenced by tribalism, toxicity, and hyper-partisanship, fueled by social media. People often refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing from their own side, acting like a football team that can't admit to making mistakes. The goal of democracy is to have a productive debate and reach consensus, but this is becoming increasingly difficult. Comedians, like the speakers in this discussion, have tried to address this issue by interviewing various experts to understand the root causes of hypersensitivity and censorship. The recent viral clip of a comedian's honest critique of his own side received widespread praise as a refreshing departure from the usual partisan rhetoric. However, the biggest liar in global politics, New York Republican congressman George Santos, continues to serve despite a long list of lies about his education, employment, and personal history. The fact that Santos remains in office despite his numerous falsehoods highlights the challenges of promoting truth and transparency in politics.

    • The Partisan Nature of American Politics Allows for Blatant Lies and DeceitIn the US, political partisanship allows individuals to lie about their past and even their identity, and still be supported by their party, while accountability and transparency are often overlooked.

The political landscape in America, particularly in Congress, is deeply partisan and toxic, allowing individuals like George Santos to lie blatantly about their past and even their identity, and still be supported by their party. The mechanism to remove such individuals, through Article 1 Section 5, is rarely used due to the partisan nature of politics. The voters, despite being aware of the deceit, continue to support Santos. This situation contrasts sharply with British politics, where such behavior would not be tolerated. The term "woke" has been co-opted by some on the right to criticize those on the left for intolerance and cancel culture, despite the original meaning of the term being synonymous with kindness and awareness of social injustice. In the UK, Labour leader Starmer was asked to choose between sitting next to Piers Morgan or Jeremy Corbyn at an Arsenal game, and he chose Morgan, reflecting the current political climate. This story underscores the need for greater accountability and transparency in politics, and the dangers of allowing partisanship to override truth and integrity.

    • Patsy Stanford shares her opinions on Corbyn's provocative actions and her excitement for Arsenal and 1800flowers.comDuring an interview, Patsy Stanford discussed her preference for Jeremy Corbyn's provocative actions over Keir Starmer's departure, her anticipation for Arsenal's upcoming game, and her belief in the convenience and cost savings of using 1800flowers.com and stamps.com

During an interview, Patsy Stanford expressed her opinion on Jeremy Corbyn's recent provocative actions and her preference for sitting next to him over Keir Starmer. She also shared her excitement for an upcoming Arsenal game and the importance of celebrating life's special occasions with 1800flowers.com. Additionally, she highlighted the convenience and cost savings of using services like stamps.com for business mailing needs. Corbyn, who could have taken the easy route, instead chose to engage in a provocative interview, according to Stanford. Starmer had reportedly said goodbye to Corbyn supporters, and Corbyn's actions may have been a response to that. Stanford also mentioned her anticipation for Arsenal's upcoming game against Manchester United and her belief that they would win, which would put them 11 points clear. In the realm of gift giving, 1800flowers.com was her go-to destination for all occasions, as everything from the company is made with care and love. Lastly, she emphasized the efficiency and cost savings of using stamps.com for business mailing needs.

Assange Walks Free: The Debate w/RFK Jr.

After years of legal battles and tensions with the governments of multiple countries, WikiLeaks founder and Australian citizen Julian Assange left a UK prison following a London High Court bail order on Monday.

Assange is expected to plead guilty to a single espionage charge in a court appearance on a tiny US-controlled Pacific island and prosecutors will seek a sentence equivalent to time served.

US officials were pursuing the Australian over charges related to a huge disclosure of secret files in 2010, which they said put lives in danger.

Jeffrey Sachs: On Putin's Peace Demands

Jeffrey Sachs: On Putin's Peace Demands

President Putin wants peace. At least that’s what he wants you to believe.

The Russian dictator has, for the first time, outlined his terms for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

He’s demanding the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from four regions which are currently occupied by Russia, and which it claims to have annexed.

Italy’s prime minister Giorgia Meloni, speaking at this weekend’s peace summit of world leaders, said he’s effectively telling Ukraine to withdraw from… Ukraine.

But if Putin’s real aim was to feign innocence for his apologists and score another propaganda victory, he may have been successful.

To debate, We're joined by Professor Jeffrey Sachs.

'Real Martha' From Baby Reindeer Lawyer: Fiona Harvey WILL Take The Stand

Fiona Harvey, the "real Martha" from Baby Reindeer, is suing Netflix for a whopping 175 million dollars.

The 34-page lawsuit claims the streaming giant is responsible for "the biggest lie in TV history" over its portrayal as Fiona as a twice-convicted and twice-jailed stalker.

Its also contends that Netflix 'did nothing' to prevent Harvey from being identified and that, as a result, her life has been 'ruined'.

Media commentators say the result of the case could change how 'true stories' are portrayed in TV and cinema forever.

Is Joe Biden Fit for Duty?

A video of President Joe Biden wandering listlessly at the G7 summit in Italy made global headlines last week.

It appears to show a confused commander-in-chief drifting aimlessly away from world leaders - until Italy’s prime minister Giorgia Meloni retrieves him.

    Princess of Wales Returns!

    Princess of Wales Returns!

The Princess of Wales made a triumphant return to public duties this weekend.

It was her first official public appearance since Christmas Day.

Kate revealed that she is still receiving treatment, including chemotherapy, for an unspecified form of cancer. That treatment is expected to continue for several months.

But make no mistake, this was a huge moment for the royals in an historically wretched year.

King Charles, aged 75, is still fighting cancer too.

Conspiracy theories swirled for months about the health and whereabouts of Princess Catherine. Her badly-edited Mother’s Day photograph was an unmitigated PR disaster.

But this weekend, against all odds, she was back at her glamorous best. And the crowds loved it.

So, have the royals now turned a corner on a dark chapter?

Have the Kate-spiracies been banished for good? Or were they - in fact - correct?

And has there EVER been a more feeble attempt to overshadow a state occasion than Meghan Markle’s decision to unveil a range of dog biscuits on the very morning of Kate’s return?

Uncensored contributor Paula Rhone-Adrien, Royal Editor, Sarah Hewson & Royal Historian Tessa Dunlop join to debate.

But first, Fox News contributor, Dr Marc Siegel gives his thoughts.
