Donte to the Julian Way so that they can continue to support those with disabilities Here!
In this week's episode we discuss the 2012 movie, "The Sessions," staring John Hawkes and Helen Hunt, which we both deeply enjoyed. Based on the essay, "On Seeing a Sex Surrogate" by writer and poet Mark O'Brien, the film explores Mark's journey of self discovery with sex alongside a sexual surrogate. Justin talks about his early dating life, noting how he felt seen when watching this movie. We also discuss the continued problem of non-disabled actors playing disabled characters; doesn't matter how good the film is, it needs to change. And of course look at Mark O'Brien's essay and poetry, both of which are real gift!
