Reacting to Addison Rae’s new song ep. 39

    en-usMarch 22, 2021

    Podcast Summary

    • Exploring sibling relationships through unusual circumstancesFamily, love, and understanding are essential in relationships, even when siblings have unusual beginnings or differences.

Despite some unusual circumstances, like being test tube or petri dish babies, the siblings found common ground and learned to appreciate each other. Jared and Riley may have had a playful rivalry, but they also showed respect and admiration for one another. The discussion also touched on the importance of love and consideration in relationships, as demonstrated by Jared's grandparents sharing a French fry. Additionally, the siblings shared their quirks and preferences, such as Jared's love for ice cream and Riley's dislike for it. Overall, the episode highlighted the importance of family, love, and understanding in the face of differences.

    • Experiencing Overlooked and Setting Boundaries in RelationshipsClear communication and setting boundaries are crucial in maintaining healthy relationships to avoid misunderstandings and feelings of being taken advantage of.

Communication and boundaries are essential in maintaining healthy relationships. The speaker shares an experience of feeling overlooked and frustrated when her ice cream was taken by her partner, Indy, and how she developed separation anxiety that interfered with their ability to spend time alone. Indy's habit of calling frequently during conversations also became a source of frustration. The situation reached a climax when the speaker paid for a deep cleaning service for their apartment, expecting a reasonable price, but was surprised by the high cost. Despite the financial burden, she chose to pay the difference to ensure the apartment was cleaned. The incident highlighted the importance of clear communication and setting boundaries to avoid misunderstandings and feelings of being taken advantage of in relationships. Additionally, the speaker's experience of separation anxiety is a common issue that many people face and highlights the importance of seeking help and finding ways to manage it.

    • Unexpected apartment rental costs: cleaning fee and tipRenting an apartment can come with unexpected costs like high cleaning fees and tips for cleaning agencies.

The cost of renting an apartment can sometimes come with unexpected expenses. In this case, the speaker was surprised by the high cleaning fee and tip required for the apartment rental. The cleaning fee was much higher than expected, and a tip was required for the cleaning agency. The speaker also learned that some of the cleaning costs went to the agency, not just the cleaners. The experience left the speaker feeling appreciative for the deep clean the apartment received, but also frustrated by the unexpected costs. The story also included an entertaining anecdote about the previous tenants making and consuming powerful weed peanut butter, leading to an unusual 3-act performance by one of the roommates. Overall, the experience served as a reminder to be prepared for unexpected costs when renting an apartment.

    • Friend's accident leads to unexpected cleaning costsUnexpected accidents and expenses can result in significant cleaning and repair costs. Communication and taking responsibility for one's own actions are key to maintaining a clean and functional living space.

Even small mishaps and unexpected expenses can lead to significant clean-up efforts and costs. The conversation revolves around a friend's accidental head injury, which resulted in a need to clean and repair their living space. While trying to play it off as no big deal, the friend discovered the extent of the damage and the importance of maintaining their home. They estimated that professional cleaning services could cost up to $150 per visit, leading them to decide to handle the cleaning themselves. The conversation also touched on the importance of communication and understanding between roommates and the importance of taking care of one's own responsibilities, even if it means going above and beyond what is expected. The conversation ended with a reminder that unexpected expenses can arise at any time and it's important to be prepared and proactive in maintaining one's living space.

    • Clear communication and planning prevent misunderstandings and unnecessary stressEffective communication and planning can help avoid misunderstandings, reduce stress, and ensure that everyone is on the same page, allowing for prioritization of important tasks and relationships.

Communication and planning are crucial for avoiding misunderstandings and unnecessary stress. In the discussed situation, the speaker faced numerous issues due to a lack of clear communication between himself, his mother, and his grandpa. This led to confusion, frustration, and ultimately, an unnecessary expense for carpet cleaning. If the speaker had been informed about the carpet cleaning situation earlier and had a clear understanding of his role and responsibilities, he could have prevented the situation from escalating. Additionally, the grandpa's reluctance to help due to the rain further complicated matters, leading to the need to hire an external service. Furthermore, the speaker's desire to spend time with his grandma was overshadowed by the unexpected carpet cleaning task, causing tension and disappointment. Clear communication and planning could have allowed the speaker to prioritize his time with his grandma and avoid the unnecessary stress of the carpet cleaning situation. Despite the challenges, the speaker shared fond memories of his mother's creative ways of celebrating holidays, which brought joy and laughter to their family. These memories serve as a reminder of the importance of communication and planning in managing everyday situations, while also cherishing the special moments that bring happiness and connection.

    • Unexpected Humor with a Concussed FriendUnexpected injuries and situations can lead to unpredictable and humorous experiences with friends

The speaker had an unexpected and humorous experience with a friend named Indy after she suffered a concussion. Despite the friend's erratic behavior and the speaker's concerns, they continued to spend time together outside, with Indy attempting various stunts like handstands and backflips. The speaker joked with Indy and her boyfriend, Aiden, about her injuries and their reactions. Later, Indy suffered another injury during a backflip attempt, leading to a chaotic scene with the neighbors complaining about the noise. The speaker also had an accident of her own, slipping on a wet floor and falling. Despite the mishaps, the speaker remained with Indy and her friends, eventually leaving when they started playing country music. The experience was a reminder of the unpredictability and humor that can arise from unexpected situations.

    • Unexpected connections through shared interestsEngaging with others can lead to enjoyable and unexpected moments, even when initial plans are to leave. Appearances can be deceiving, so take the time to get to know someone before making assumptions.

Unexpected moments and connections can lead to enjoyable experiences. During a gathering, the speaker was initially focused on leaving, but was drawn in by someone playing country music and everyone dancing. He made a new friend, Lauren, who seemed genuinely nice and brought a positive energy to the situation. Despite some initial confusion, they connected over music and had a memorable night. The experience served as a reminder that taking the time to engage with others can lead to unexpected and enjoyable moments. Additionally, the group's discussion about siblings dating showed that appearances can be deceiving and that people should not jump to conclusions based on superficial factors. Instead, they should take the time to get to know someone and consider the context before making assumptions.

    • Analyzing Sibling or Couple Relationship from a PhotoPhysical resemblance, body language, and presence of rings were considered in debating sibling or romantic relationship in a photo. Consensus leaned towards siblings due to strong resemblance, but definitive judgments are challenging based on a single image.

The discussion revolved around the observation of two people in a photo and the debated conclusion of whether they were siblings or a romantic couple. The group's analysis was based on physical similarities, body language, and the presence of an engagement ring. Despite some contradictory opinions, the consensus leaned towards siblings due to the striking resemblance between the two individuals. The conversation also touched upon personal experiences, the influence of social media, and the possibility of misinterpreted photos. Ultimately, the group acknowledged the difficulty in making definitive judgments based on a single image.

    • Siblings Dating: Ethical DilemmasDiscovering siblings dating can lead to difficult ethical dilemmas, prioritizing relationships and potential children is key.

The topic of siblings dating and the ethical dilemmas it raises was explored in depth during the conversation. Jared and the speaker discussed various instances where they had identified siblings based on their resemblance and body language. The conversation took a hypothetical turn when they considered what they would do if they found out they were dating their half-sibling. The consensus was that it would be a difficult situation, but ultimately, the relationship and any children involved would likely take priority. The conversation ended with a question about Addison Rae's new song.

    • Addison Rae's singing debut impresses groupThe group appreciated Addison's vocal abilities, production quality, and appearance in her music video, but had mixed feelings about the song itself. They encouraged her to continue exploring music and finding her unique voice.

The group was pleasantly surprised by Addison Rae's singing debut, appreciating her vocal abilities and the production quality of the song. They also admired her appearance in the music video and believed she deserved the platform. However, they had mixed feelings about the song itself, finding it decent but not necessarily their style or representative of Addison's unique voice. They acknowledged that transitioning from TikTok to traditional music and acting can be challenging, and praised her for collaborating with renowned producer Benny Blanco. Overall, they encouraged Addison to continue exploring music and finding her unique voice in the industry.

    • Reminiscing about past musical guests and looking forward to interviewing Addison RaeThey shared stories about past musical guests, their love for dogs, and joked about the unexpected joys of their work.

The speakers in this conversation are looking forward to interviewing Addison Rae on their podcast and reminiscing about past musical guests they almost had, such as Machine Gun Kelly. They also shared stories about unexpected encounters with artists and their love for dogs, particularly English bulldogs. The conversation was filled with excitement and nostalgia. Additionally, they joked about the potential cost of having a celebrity stylist and the possibility of being kidnapped while stopping to look at puppies. Overall, the conversation showcases the speakers' passion for their work, their love for music and dogs, and their ability to find joy in unexpected moments.

    • Speaker's preference for calm dogs and consideration of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and BulldogThe speaker values calm dogs and is drawn to breeds like the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bulldog, but would not want a Boxer due to their energy level. He expressed a preference for certain colors and breeds and shared experiences growing up with Boxers.

The speaker values calm and chill temperament in dogs and was drawn to a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel due to its relaxed demeanor. However, he also acknowledged the personality and charm of a Bulldog named Chester. The speaker mentioned that if he were to get a puppy, he would consider naming it William and would take care of it, but would not want a Boxer due to their energetic nature. The conversation then shifted to discussing different dog breeds and their appearances, with the speaker expressing a preference for certain colors and breeds. The speaker also shared his experiences with growing up with Boxers and acknowledged their unique characteristics. The conversation ended with the speaker expressing admiration for various dog breeds and their unique appearances.

    • Swapping out fashion pieces and accessorizing can transform an outfitMaking intentional choices in fashion and career can significantly enhance one's look and confidence.

Fashion choices can greatly impact the overall look of an outfit. During a discussion about different outfits, it was suggested that swapping out certain pieces, like a flannel for a leather jacket, could change the entire feel of an outfit. Additionally, accessorizing with jewelry and putting the hair up can also enhance an outfit. When it comes to careers, the proudest moments were identified as achieving personal milestones, such as a number 1 song or a post on a celebrity's social media. These moments were described as exciting and validating. Overall, the conversation emphasized the importance of making intentional choices in both fashion and career to maximize impact and confidence.

    • Longing for Intense EmotionsIndividual expresses sadness and jealousy over inability to experience and express emotions intensely in social situations, despite deep appreciation for others' efforts and gestures.

The individual in this conversation expresses a deep longing to experience and express emotions more intensely, particularly in social situations where others seem to be enjoying themselves. They mention feeling a lack of excitement or joy in moments that are meant to be celebratory, and express a sense of sadness and jealousy about this. They also mention struggling to show appreciation or excitement when others surprise them, adding to their feelings of sadness and isolation. Despite this, they emphasize that they are still deeply appreciative of others' efforts and gestures towards them. The conversation also touches on the idea of how social media can present a skewed perspective of others' experiences and emotions.

    • Embracing new opportunities in high schoolStay connected with friends, focus on the journey, and persevere through challenges to grow.

While it's natural to feel nervous about the changes that come with growing up, such as leaving middle school and making new friends in high school, it's important to remember that these experiences bring new opportunities for forming strong connections. The person you are now may not be the same person you'll be in the future, but that's okay. The key is to make an effort to stay in touch with those who matter to you, whether it's through technology or in-person visits. As for dealing with anxiety about the future and doubts about one's abilities, it's essential to focus on the journey rather than just the destination. Work on your craft, surround yourself with supportive people, and remember that everyone faces challenges and setbacks. Keep pushing forward, and don't be too hard on yourself. The most successful people have faced self-doubt and uncertainty, but they've also persevered and continued to grow.

    • Enjoy the present moment and trust the journeyFocus on the present, trust the process, and find joy in the journey, even when the future seems uncertain.

Focusing on the journey and giving your best every day can lead to positive outcomes, even if the future seems uncertain. The speakers in this discussion emphasized the importance of enjoying the present moment and trusting that things will work out in the end. They also shared some light-hearted moments and memes to keep the mood fun and engaging. So, keep working hard, stay positive, and enjoy the ride! Additionally, the speakers had a fun and playful dynamic, making the conversation enjoyable and relatable. They also interacted with their audience by answering questions during a live after-party, creating a sense of community and engagement. Overall, the discussion was a great reminder to focus on the present and trust in the journey, while also finding joy in the little moments along the way.

What's up party people! We're back with another fun themed episode but this week we travel back in time! Maybe idk the timeline is a little fuzzy on this one. This week Zach and Tara talk about their experience meeting Tara's idol, we explore the depths of one of our love lives, and there might be a new Dropouts couple to ship you'll just have to watch and see...We hope you enjoy!

    P.S.

We sincerely apologize for another shorter episode this week :( As you can see this was shot on the same day as the Mount Everest ep and just for a little context, because of everybody’s schedules we had to shoot two episodes AND a music video all in the same day to make sure we were able to put out our regularly scheduled episodes for you all. I hope you can understand and give us a little grace for that. I also wish I could say that we’d be back to our normally scheduled program next week but to be honest with you, the next time we film will most likely be while we’re in NYC for our East coast live shows! Now, no promises, but that episode may or may not have a very cool guest on it 👀 What I can say for certain is that it’ll still be another week until we’re back in the diner. We always want to give you the best content possible and sometimes life gets busy and hectic and tries to throw a wrench in that plan, and we’re just trying our best to uphold that promise to you all. Thank you for coming along this journey, you truly mean the world to us. Can’t wait to see everybody on tour next week!!

Thank you to the team at Thurgood Media for creating the back drop for us!https://www.thurgoodmedia.com/ What's up party people! Okay, first order of business we'd like to formally apologize for the shorter episode this week. As you can see we filmed in a special location this week, but with that (and also a few technical issues) came some time constraints that we couldn't avoid. We were also filming a VERY cool project the same day that i think many of you will be excited to see 👀 We always want to provide you all with the best content we can and we hope that this unique location and all the behind the scenes effort we put into every episode and this one in particular, at least somewhat makes up for it... Second order of business, we still have a great episode for you! Despite what the background might say, things start off HOT this episode with some drama between two of our cohosts 👀 You'll just have to see for yourself who's a part of that. Following the drama, Zach and Skyler fill us in on all the wild antics they got into while at Stagecoach. Then to round it all out we dive into an introspective, thought provoking question that you all might want to ask yourselves. It just might make you look at yourself in a different light. A lot has changed since we last had either of them on. Zane completed his Xeela transformation and came out the other side like a brand new man, Heath popped the question to Mariah and is no longer a single man (according to his marital status on his taxes), and they started a brand new podcast (now) called Basically Unfiltered with Remi and Alisha! It was great being able to have both of them on at the same time and made for a really fun episode! If you haven't already make sure to check out their podcasts Unfiltered and Basically Unfiltered! E512 Going Deeper with Serena Kerrigan - I Need A “Turning Point” Man

Welcome back to another episode of The Viall Files, Going Deeper Edition! Today we are joined by Content Creator, Media Personality, and Entrepreneur, Serena Kerrigan! In this episode, we are diving deep and talking about how being on The Viall Files was on Serena’s bucket list, bringing a Regina George mentality to self-love, embracing that life is short, and getting called vicious on dates. We also talk about the biggest struggles in the modern dating landscape, the importance of communication, and meeting a “turning point” man. We then play Serena’s card game, “Let’s F*cking Date”, and get into some deep questions. We also get into some pop culture topics, talking about Keke Palmer’s pregnancy announcement and the Britney Spears musical. We then let on our Texting Office Hours caller who wonders if she should pursue an old situationship after running into him last week. With her trying to see if he’s interested, and him using a sunburn as an excuse to flake, she wonders if it’s even worth it. After our caller we see what’s new with Serena with her brand and upcoming show.

“I think everything comes down to communication.”

This week Abbey and Pete are coming in live and direct from their holibobs in one of their most ICONIC episodes so far.

Fresh off the back of one of Peter’s more bruising Airport Ab encounters, Abbey and Pete are making the most of their Therapy Crouch to get some home truths off their chest.

E739 Reality Roundup, Sperm Donor Profiles, VPR Drama + GD with Alex Warren

Welcome back to The Viall Files: Going Deeper Edition! To start things out, the household gets together to talk about recent headlines - such as Nick and Natalie’s first Valentine’s Day together, Lala Kent’s sperm donor party, Rachel Leviss commenting on Tom Sandoval, Scheana working a shift at Chili’s, and Ally and James performing together.

Then, we talk to Alex Warren about his life - from losing his parents, to living in a car, being shot, meeting his now fiancée, and creating music. We also get to ask him about the Hype House era, and where he sees the future of TikTok influencers going. We also have a Texting Office Hours caller whose boyfriend recently told her he was moving away from where they live - she isn’t sure if they should try long distance or if this is the end of their relationship.

“You have to find something else that’s your passion.”
