We can start out talking about how a person who went to school to learn about advertising becomes the creator of her own line of hair products that are sold internationally, and end up talking about how spiritual retreats are a metaphor for needing to poop. I sat down with Intuitive Spiritual guide, Holistic Doula, and gate keeper Osaranga Solanke to talk about the healing work she does. In her readings, she employs Tarot, oracle, and pendulum as tools to help her clients find clarity on their path towards living authentic lives. She took me through what she does in her readings and we also dove into what her work with psilocybin as a tool for healing and deeper understanding of one's purpose, looks like. We talked about what brought her to this work, and why it's so important. It's a conversation for all to enjoy.

This endeavor exists to provide a container for multidisciplinary offerings that invite dialog around many of the issues affecting families and individuals in our increasingly disconnected society.

Khariyyah details how Higher Ground works with kids and teens to engage them in caring for themselves and their community, including  partnering with the other national and local organizations. She also explains how the public can get involved.

For this episode, I headed out to the peninsula  to talk with a friend.  She's a native Chicagoan, now living in the Bay Area, a former High School teacher who followed her dream to become a YA author.  We are part of a book group or should I say, eating- and- hanging- out- with- the- girls - while -our- kids- play- Minecraft- in - the -other -room group.   But that's beside the point. She published her first book It's Not Like It's A Secret  with  Harper Teen in May of 2017. So without further adieu, you're invited to eavesdrop on our conversation from late February 2018.   

A conversation with Tanzanian-American-Canadian mixed media artist, Shanna Strauss.  Her art explores themes of identity and belonging, which she uses as a tool for individual, community, and social change. This interview took place as her work was on view as part of  The Black Woman Is God: Divine Revolution at SomArts in San Francisco, Ca.
