    About this Episode

Are You Giving Too Much Meaning to Things?

In this episode, I'm delving into the complex world of interpretation - how we, as humans, attach meanings to events and situations that may not inherently be good or bad. We'll talk about the concept of faith, the ability to see beyond appearances and how reframing our perspective can lead to more positive outcomes.

The conversation starts with a personal reflection on how the start of the year has panned out for me, balancing my roles as a business owner and a mum. I share some unexpected challenges that came along and how they forced me to slow down. This led me to the crux of the episode: understanding how we interpret and give meaning to life's events.

To illustrate this, I share an old tale about a farmer and his horse, a story often associated with Taoist teachings. This story serves as a reminder that events in life are not inherently good or bad; it's our perception that labels them as such. I also share a personal experience of how a seemingly negative interaction turned into a positive one, simply by changing my perspective.

Here's what we cover in this episode:

    • ๐Ÿค” The concept of 'Mum Guilt' and maintaining a work-life balance
    • ๐Ÿš€ How unexpected challenges can slow down our momentum and what we can learn from them
    • ๐Ÿž๏ธ The farmer and his horse: A story about perception and judgement
    • ๐Ÿ”Ž The power of reframing and seeing beyond appearances
    • ๐Ÿ™Œ An example of how a negative interaction turned into a positive one
    • ๐ŸŒˆ Why we shouldn't be quick to label events as 'good' or 'bad'
    • ๐Ÿ”๏ธ The importance of keeping an open mind and not assuming the worst in people or situations

Remember, we only see a small part of the bigger picture. So, before you jump to conclusions, take a moment to reframe your perspective. It might just change the outcome! As always, drop me a line if you have podcasting questions, thoughts on business, entrepreneurship, or life in general. Your questions and ideas are always welcome!

Marianne Williamson Gary Vee and Turia Pitt: Lessons on Faith

Marianne Williamson Gary Vee and Turia Pitt: Lessons on Faith

Welcome to another episode where we dive deep into the power and importance of faith. ๐ŸŽงโœจ

This episode is all about one of my favourite topics - faith. It's not about denying our problems or pretending they don't exist. It's about seeing beyond them and acknowledging that there's always an answer. Faith isn't just about believing in something, it's a deep-rooted knowledge and inner guidance that helps us move forward, even when things don't go as planned.

I share some inspiring stories from the likes of Marianne Williamson and Gary Vee, both of whom have shown incredible faith on their paths to success. We also explore the idea of 'absorbing the loss', a powerful mantra from Marianne that can help us keep the faith when setbacks occur. Plus, we discuss the concept of shared faith and how coming together to foster shared hopes and dreams can make anything possible.

In this episode, we delve into:

    • ๐Ÿ” The difference between faith and belief
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ The power of Marianne Williamson's mantra: "I can absorb the loss"
    • ๐Ÿ“ˆ Gary Vee's take on faith and patience in the journey to success
    • ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Turia Pitt's story of resilience and faith after her accident
    • ๐ŸŒŸ The power of shared faith and how it can help us achieve our goals

As always, I'm here to join with you and share my faith in you. Don't miss out on a special treat in this episode - a link to a motivating visualization that I've recorded. You can find it in the show notes.

Let's continue the conversation! I'd love to hear your thoughts on faith and how it shows up in your life. Drop a comment below (if you're on YouTube) or send me an email. And, of course, don't forget to like, subscribe, and share this episode with your friends. ๐Ÿ’Œ

Sending you all the good juju and looking forward to catching up in the next episode. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’ซ

Nervous to podcast? Me too! Letโ€™s overcome that!

In this episode, we're diving deep into dealing with nerves and fears that might be holding you back from creating your own podcast or pursuing other big dreams. If you've got that nagging feeling in the back of your mind, listen up! This one is definitely for you.

We all know that feeling of nerves and fear, right? Itโ€™s like a barrier stopping you from achieving your goals. But remember, feeling nervous is a sign that you really want to do it! I'm sharing my thoughts on how to overcome these feelings, and why itโ€™s important to step out of your comfort zone. Trust me, the feeling of accomplishment is way better than the regret of not doing it.

In this episode, I also touch on the topic of fear. The acronym FEAR stands for False Evidence Appearing Real, and it's often our ego that's behind it. We worry too much about what others think of us, but remember, most of those thoughts are just stories in our heads. It's time to kick those fears to the curb and start living fully!

In this episode we chat about:

๐ŸŽค How the feeling of nervousness indicates you really want to pursue your dreamsย
๐ŸŽค Why doing something you're nervous about is better than being paralysed by fearย
๐ŸŽค The acronym FEAR and how our ego can hold us backย
๐ŸŽค The importance of not letting negative opinions deter you from your goalsย
๐ŸŽค The need to be authentic and help the people you're meant to help

Remember, if you're feeling stuck, listen to my song 'Messenger' or try the visualisation version where I guide you through the whole process.ย

Keep It Simple, Stupid: A Guide to Business Efficiency

Keep It Simple, Stupid: A Guide to Business Efficiency

Are you making it easy or hard for people to become your client? In this episode, we're talking all about the KISS principle - Keep It Simple, Stupid! We're diving into the importance of removing barriers and simplifying processes to help you connect better with your potential clients or collaborators.

In my recent experience of getting podcasting gigs for clients, I've discovered the importance of keeping processes as simple as possible. The more hurdles you put in front of people, the higher your drop-off rate of success is going to be. This revelation got me thinking about all the forms and processes we have in our businesses; do we need them all? Can we simplify them?

For example, I came across a podcast looking for guests. My client fit the bill, so I went to fill out the form. It was a long one. I committed and went through it, but I couldn't help but think of how many potential guests would drop off because of the length of the form. This made me consider how we can apply this thinking to all areas of our businesses.

๐ŸŽฏ Key Points from the Episode:

    • Keep it simple, stupid! The easier you can make it for people to connect and collaborate with you, the better off you'll be.
    • Consider the barriers in your business and think about how you can remove or simplify them. This might involve rethinking forms and processes, or it could mean offering guarantees to alleviate potential fears.
    • Make sure your messaging is clear and direct. Don't make people go down a rabbit hole to figure out precisely what you offer and how you can help them.

If you've got any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments or send them my way. I might just answer them in a future episode! Catch you in the next one. Bye!

The Power of Audience Engagement: Insights From Gary Vee and Taylor Swift

The Power of Audience Engagement: Insights From Gary Vee and Taylor Swift

Have you ever thought about the power of community and how it can contribute to your success? In this episode, I'll be sharing my insights drawn from personal experiences and observations of successful personalities like Gary Vee and Taylor Swift.

I kick things off with an intriguing analogy about not 'having sex on the first date' (no judgement if you do!)

What I mean is, just like in relationships, building an audience, potential clients, supporters and followers is an integral part of your business.ย

You're co-creating together, so it's essential to take the time to nurture this relationship.ย

Drawing from my experiences as a singer, I share how I learned to understand and read my audience's needs and priorities.

You see, your audience is part of the show (or business), using the example of Taylor Swift's concerts. I highlight how personalities like Taylor Swift and Gary Vee understand the significance of forming a connection with their audience and giving individual attention. Further, I discuss the concept of 'priming' your audience and how it can make a massive difference in delivering your best.

    Key Takeaways:

    • ๐ŸŽฏ The key to success is building a community and understanding their needs.
    • ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Sharing personal experiences and observations can help your audience connect with you on a deeper level.
    • ๐Ÿ“š Always keep learning and apply those lessons to various areas of your life.
    • ๐Ÿ’ก Try to look at things from your audience's perspective; understand and read where they are at.
    • ๐Ÿ”„ Building and nurturing relationships with your audience is crucial in business.

How to Build Your Personal Brand: Lessons from Gary Vee's 'Crush It'

How to Build Your Personal Brand: Lessons from Gary Vee's 'Crush It'

Hey there! In this podcast, I share my insightful experience diving into the audio book "Crush It" by Gary Vaynerchuk, also known as Gary Vee. This book confirmed so many things I already thought about him and I've come away with so many takeaways. Iโ€™ve even spotted a few parallels between Gary Vee and Taylor Swift when it comes to marketing tactics and community building. Intriguing, right? Let's unpack this together!

Iโ€™ve always admired Gary Vee for his genuine, relatable content and his incredible business sense. One thing I noticed during my listen was how his mannerisms and energy hinted at him having ADHD. This isnโ€™t a diagnosis, mind you, but it does explain his unique approach to things. It's fascinating to see how what could be seen as a limitation becomes a superpower, helping him focus on what truly matters.

In his book, Gary Vee emphasises passion and authenticity, and how these are interlinked with your intuition. He also talks about the importance of building a personal brand and creating a strong, engaging community. He advocates for following your interests and using that to create content that attracts attention, which in turn can be monetised. It's a long-term game, but itโ€™s based on staying true to who you are and following that inner guidance system.

    ๐Ÿ”‘ Key Takeaways:

๐ŸŽง Gary Vee's audio book "Crush It" is a quick, engaging and practical listen. ๐Ÿ”ฎ His belief in intuition and passion as guiding forces in business and personal growth. ๐Ÿ“š The importance of building a personal brand and creating a community. ๐Ÿ‘€ How attention can be monetised and turned into opportunities. ๐Ÿ’ก The need for patience and persistence โ€“ success doesn't happen overnight.

Although the book was written back in 2009, so much of what Gary Vee mentioned has proven true today, especially about the shift of advertising dollars to social media and the internet. If you're keen to dive into this book, you can listen to it for free on Spotify if you have a premium account. Tune in to hear more of my thoughts on this and let me know what you think!

Stay tuned for a future episode where I'll delve deeper into the concept of community and connection, which Gary Vee also touches on in his book. As always, if you've found this episode helpful, feel free to share it. See you in the next one!
