    Midlife Weight Loss

After successfully losing 44 lbs with a low-carb keto diet, I found myself gaining 20 lbs back during the pandemic lockdown. Now that things are opening up and I'm motivated to lose those extra pounds, I started my keto diet again. This time, however, I'm not as successful at limiting the carbs and I find myself frustrated by the restrictive food list.

With a brief trial of Weight Watchers behind me, I started a new app called Noom. I love all things tech and this combines motivation, tech, humor and a little sass. It connects to your fitness tracker and keeps you up to date on how you're doing.

Interview with Children's Book Author Julie Cassetta

Interview with Children's Book Author Julie Cassetta

In this episode, I'm interviewing author Julie Cassetta.  Her new children's book, Magical Mia:  Kindness is Contagious, debuts on March 26, 2021. Julie tells us the story of how she came to write a book during the 2020 lockdown.

She is a Writer, Eternal Optimist, Environmentalist, Scientist, Homeschool Teacher, Passionate Meditator, and Girl Scout Leader.

Julie believes in magic and the power of love. She is an enthusiastic advocate of a growth mindset and self-improvement and is on a mission to inspire and empower children around the world.

Thanks to her mother who is a fervent reader, she developed a love of reading early on. Books have had a transformative impact on her life, and they are what she turns to when seeking guidance and understanding.

She is the mother to a funny, empathetic, sweet, creative, daughter who is her biggest source of inspiration. Yearning to instill confidence, courage, and a sense of empowerment in her daughter and other young children, she was inspired and blessed with the idea to create the Magical Mia series.

Her debut children’s book, Magical Mia – Kindness is Contagious, empowers children to use their kind words and actions to spread joy and happiness wherever they go.

Right now, it's only available on iOS and by invitation only.  Download the app and save your user name.  Maybe a good friend will invite you?
