    On January 26th, 2020, NBA legend Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, John, Keri, and Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Sarah and Payton Chester, and pilot Ara Zobayan. As Southern California natives and huge Laker fans, Episode 1 guest Chris Graves and I talk about how we first heard the news, wrestle with why the tragedy has affected us so profoundly, and share our favorite (and most disappointing) Kobe moments.

    Perhaps best known for his work on radio (107.5 KISS FM in Medford and 104.7 KDUK in Eugene), Gemineye is also the official DJ of University of Oregon football and men's basketball. He joins the show to discuss opening for Macklemore in front of thousands of fans, how he broke into the music business, Prince v. Michael Jackson, and the state of the industry today.

    Sandy Ficca is the drummer for Firefall, a country/rock band with three Gold and two Platinum albums and eleven chart-topping singles such as "You Are the Woman" and "Just Remember I Love You." Hear his origin story, how he ended up touring with The Drifters at 18 years old, and what he's doing to give back to aspiring young musicians through the Use Your Gift Foundation.
