    About this Episode

In this episode, we discuss Independence Park including the Sunnyside Rose Garden, the Lillian Arhelger Memorial and the creators of the park.  We also tell the history of American Legion Memorial Stadium--the home of sporting events, concerts, and celebrations from 1936 until today.  The first football game was between UNC Chapel Hill and Wake Forest, and a stadium rally was attended by President Franklin D.
