The Ebb And Flow Of Life As An Eventer: Rein It In - With Ash and Josh #28 (Ellie Fredricks)

On this episode of "Rein It In with Ash and Josh," we are thrilled to have the talented and accomplished equestrian, Ellie Fredericks, join us. At just 19 years old, Ellie has already had a fantastic 2022 season, showcasing her skills and dedication in the eventing world.

Ellie's success in 2022 can be attributed to her partnership with a variety of horses. Riding Lucinda's Advanced stallion Britannia's Mail, she kicked off her eventing season with a confident 10th place finish in the OIu21 at Cirencester Park. She continued to impress with an impressive double clear for 8th place in the Advanced at Thoresby. Ellie and Britannia's Mail even had the privilege of participating in the Sport Horse Breeding GB stallion parade at Badminton, marking a memorable milestone for them.

Not only has Ellie excelled with Britannia's Mail, but she has also shown her ability to develop young horses. One notable example is Pure Trendsetter, a 7-year-old mare owned in part by Liz Hills and Chris Emmett. Ellie's hard work and dedication paid off as they achieved a top 10 place at Barbury International CCI-S 3* and an impressive 3rd place in the CCI-L 3* at Hartpury International. Their journey together culminated in a remarkable 27th place finish out of 70 competitors at the 7-year-old World Championships in Le Lion D'Angers.

Ellie's talent extends to her work with young horses as well. Pure Britannia, a 5-year-old, demonstrated great potential under Ellie's guidance, earning top 10 placings at Tweseldown and Portman BE100. This talented duo continued to impress at Novice level, securing 6th place at Larkhill, 3rd at Barbury, and 7th at Little Downham. They concluded their season with lovely double clears at Wellington and Cornbury House Internationals.

Another rising star in Ellie's stable is the Sports Pony stallion Britannia's Bijou. Under Ellie's tutelage, Bijou had a phenomenal debut competition season, consistently achieving placings in both show jumping and eventing events. Similarly, Upsi Britannia, a 4-year-old, made a splash in the Nexgen Young Horse Series, ultimately winning the Eventing series 4-year-old final at Hickstead.

As Ellie embarks on her gap year at Rosegarth, she will continue to compete throughout the 2023 season while also nurturing and developing young horses, including her own project horses. Although she will be heading off to University in October, we are fortunate that Ellie will still be involved with the horses, ensuring her passion and expertise remain a part of her journey.

Ellie's remarkable achievements have not gone unnoticed, and she is proudly sponsored by Pure Feed, Devoucoux, HUSK, Jo Hansford Photography, Foxy Equestrian, and Salute Equestrian.
