Today's Black Corner will be highlighting Environmentalist Extraordinaire, MaVynee Betsch aka The Beach Lady. She has widely been an unsung hero, but her philanthropy and work for the environment has helped in the preservation of her grandfather's beach, The American Beach and other natural things.

Mildred and Richard were a married couple who were the plaintiffs in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Loving v. Virginia (1967).
The Lovings were criminally charged with interracial marriage under a Virginia statute banning such marriages, and were forced to leave the state to avoid being jailed. Their strength and courage ensured that interracial couples no longer faced legal discrimination against marriage.
