    Someone Stabbed the Therapist!

    Someone Stabbed the Therapist!

    Melissa “Missy” Hamilton

Missy Hamilton struggled with addiction. She found herself a married mom of two boys with an addiction. Eventually her husband, Jack, kicked her out of the house and she lost custody of her sons, Patrick and Dalton. In 2008 she was at a crossroad, she either was going to rehab or continue on the dark road of addiction. She was able to complete rehabilitation, move back in with Jack and her sons and remained sober since 2008. She then dedicated her life to helping others with addiction. She got her bachelors degree in psychology and her masters degree in clinical health studies. Missy worked as a therapist and eventually became the assistant director at Crossroads Counseling, which provides court-appointed domestic violence and alcohol and drug therapy to people in Davidson County.

On February 4th, 2019 after a normal day at work Missy (50) was finishing up a group therapy session. As she was cleaning up, putting away chairs and packing up for the night a man walked in the door. Police say Brian Dewayne Conley (32) killed her inside the Madison business in a shopping plaza at 521 Gallatin Pike South. She was raped and stabbed 73 times. Brian was caught entering the office at 7:30 pm and exiting less than a half hour later. The day after the Missy Hamilton murder Brian called out of work. The following day, co-workers witnessed Brian with cuts on his hands and a pink bandage around his pinky. He said he cut his hand playing with his knife.

Police in West Tennessee had been investigating whether Conley was linked to the stabbing of another woman outside a mental health facility in Millington earlier this year. On Oct. 7, the Millington Police Department reported that a woman who worked at Professional Care Services, a mental health facility in the 5200 block of Navy Road, was also stabbed 20 times.

The victim is an employee of the clinic and was arriving for work when the attack occurred. Millington Police Chief Mark Dunbar said "The motive for the attack is unknown; however, our investigation at this point leads us to believe it may be a mental consumer." He also said the circumstances in the stabbing in Millington and the homicide in Madison were very similar, and the fact that Conley is from the Memphis/Shelby County area and has a violent criminal history played a role in their department potentially linking Conley to the case.

Police were never able to directly link the murder of Missy to the stabbed victim, but knowing now that he was responsibly for missy’s death in February doesn’t make it unreasonable to believe he could have done the stabbing in October. Police arrested him in December of 2019, the following year he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parol.

In an effort to carry on that legacy and continue Missy’s work and ministry, Christ Life Community Church has created a scholarship fund to help people in need of professional counseling for addiction, grief, family dysfunction, and mental illness.

    Marion County Six

    Marion County Six

Less than one year ago, on Thursday June 15th, 2023 in small town Marion county a home was up in flames. Sequatchie is only home to about 600 people, but neighbors recall hearing glass breaking and loud pops around 8 pm that slow summer night and by 9 pm police were called to the scene of a house fire at the 200 block of Pine Street. As firefighters put out the blaze, investigators enter the scene and find pure horror. 3 adults were dead along with 3 children and one other man who was still alive but had suffered 3 gun shot wounds. He was later airlifted with life force to a Chattanooga hospital.

Gary and Regina were married and living together in 2020, which is when this horrible story starts. Regina had an adult daughter, Brittnee, a mother of three children. The couple had a very intense relationship, with calls from neighbors reporting them fighting, domestic violence calls and stories of abuse from friends and family. Neighbor, Noah Simmons recalls breaking up fights between Gary and Regina and remembers them going tit for tat. That same year Regina filed a domestic assault report against Gary claiming her husband had 50-60 guns. Another report from Regina says she was afraid for her life because she thought her estranged husband would get drunk and kill her. Regina then files a restraining order, in May of 2023 against Gary and a judge orders them no contact. That same time Regina’s daughter Brittnee was being proposed to on May 29th. Soon after that Brittnee’s fiancé moves in with Brittnee, her three kids and her mom.

On June 15th, 2023 Gary would arrive at Regina’s home. He would then shoot and kill Regina and Britnee and maybe one of her children. Of her three kids, at least one was found with a gun shot wound. The other two kids may have died from smoke insolation. Gary was also found with a self inflicted gun shot wound. Police believe Gary went there for revenge on his estranged wife, killing her, her daughter and her daughter’s 3 children. Aaron was a month into his new life at Regina’s house as a finance and stepdad before all of his dreams would literally come burning down around him.

Police believe Gary lost it, drove to his wife’s house where he broke in and killed her. In his rage he ends up killing Brittnee, shooting Brittnee’s finance Aaron and killing all of her children,. Gary then decided to set the house on fire before killing himself.

The investigation is still fresh and more information is sure to come out. We were able to talk to Aaron’s cousin AJ about the incident. AJ is an expired follower and she wants to make sure we get the information correct. We talk to AJ next…

    Kingston Courthouse Murder

    Kingston Courthouse Murder

Jennifer Hyatte had a very difficult upbringing with her first ever memory being in a courthouse as her mom and dad divorced. In Emory County, Utah Jennifer and her sister were put through a difficult custody battle. Her father quickly remarried and his two young daughters weren’t present for the wedding, which ultimately caused friction. There isn’t a lot of information on Jennifer’s early life, but she did describe her life in a 34 page manifest.

After her parents divorced and her father remarried, Jennifer says she and her sister were sexually abused by someone in her fathers new family which went on for four years. They never told anyone. Jennifer found solace in horses. Her aunt owned several horse stables and that’s where Jennifer fell in love with a thoroughbred horse named, Weaver. Unfortunately she only got to heal with Weaver for a short while, before the horse had moved to a new stable. “Well that’s it, I backed away from horses for good” Jennifer writes.

At 15 her attention turned to alcohol, drugs and dating older men. Her boyfriend was 25 and she was a 15 year old child. While staying between her mom and her dad, she learned how to sneak out and cover her tracks. Jennifer would sneak out of her mom’s house and take her car and learned how to change the odometer on her mom’s car.

The summer before her senior year, in Utah, she met her first husband. She wrote a day before the wedding, at 3 months pregnant and 18 years old, she found him with another woman. She went on with the wedding and they would later welcome 3 children together, 2 sons and a daughter. Jennifer says the marriage was abusive at times and drugs were being used in the household.

In 1996 she remembers her first taste on cocaine. “I was hooked.” She also writes that after she tried it once, she needed more and even described being sold off when she and her husband didn’t have money to support their habit. She then went on a six month binge, which ended when she came home one night and her children didn’t even recognize her. By 1999 Jennifer’s husband was arrest twice for drug charges, including a meth lab in the couples 3 bedroom home and DUI in the forth degree all within a 2 week span. With her husband going away she felt lost with “no self esteem, no character and no substance,” she wrote.

She moved on in her life with a large man who was nice and a bit of a push over. They quickly married and Jennifer says 30 minutes after she said “I do” she met a friend of the groom at the reception named Travis. She was smitten and the two quickly began an intense affair even sneaking off to casino vacations. Even after Jennifer’s second husband found out, the two continued the affair. Her second husband then filed for divorce and Travis quickly moved in. That quickly fizzled out quick due to the fact that “Travis was too much of a kid himself and me with 3 kids it wasn’t working out” Jennifer wrote.

Jennifer needed a vacation so she decided to visit her friend Tina in good old Music City, Tennessee. She fell in love with Tennessee and eventually decided she wanted to live in Tennessee. In 2001 she and her 3 children packed up and moved to Big Sandy, west of Nashville near Land between the Lakes (check out our episode on Carla Atkins and Vickie Stout). In 2004 she started a job as a nurse at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee. That’s where she would meet her third husband.

She fell in love with inmate George Hyatte.  George was a seasoned prisoner. At 17 he had already been through drug and alcohol counseling. He escaped between 2-5 times, including once when George and another inmate used a knife made from a toothbrush and was able to escape. Jennifer was caught giving George extra food and special attention. She wa

    Marsha Brantley

    Marsha Brantley

Sorry this is such a rough edit. Sometimes technology gets too complicated, but we wanted to release this week’s episode on time.

Marsha Brantley is still missing from Cleveland, Tennessee. She was a married, retired writer, who love her dogs and the outdoors. In 2009, when Marsha hadn’t been seen or heard from.. people started asking around. Donnie Brantley had been married to Marsha for almost a decade, but claimed she left him. The police found all of her belongings at her home and tried to charge Donnie twice. No evidence has been found so Marsha is technically still missing in Tennessee.
