Self Talk #117: INTERVIEW: Abdi Assadi, Spiritual Counselor + Healer

Self Talk #117: INTERVIEW: Abdi Assadi, Spiritual Counselor + Healer

No matter what the question, Love is the answer. Love with a capital L.
    —Abdi Assadi

Abdi Assadi is a spiritual counselor and healer with four decades of clinical experience in acupuncture, body-centered psychotherapy, indigenous shamanic practices, and diverse meditative techniques. He is the author of Shadows on the Path: Revelations and Pitfalls on the Spiritual Journey and A Healer’s Handbook: A Guide for the Beginner Practitioner.

I asked Abdi to join me to discuss the behemoth topic of how we humans can maintain balance in turbulent times. The conversation covers so much more—as it usually does when we get going. Here are a few highlights:

    • The importance of relationship with Self in a hyper-individuated culture
    • How a death practice helps us live more fully
    • Why Love really is the answer to every question

Abdi also leads us in a brief awareness exercise that rounds out all the "yapping" we've done for the hour. Well worth the trip.
